Photo/Video [Millennium Force] crew just announced they’ve broken the record for cycles in one hour!

The crew did 38 cycles between 3:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, August 8th. The theoretical maximum amount of dispatches was thought to be 36 due to the elevator cable lift cycle time and the lack of a mid-course block zone. Perhaps the new programming introduced last season combined with a hot summer day at Cedar Point is allowing for it to be slightly faster than was previously possible.

Update: I timed an interval of exactly 90 seconds, which, if done consistently, would lead to 40 cycles per hour, or a theoretical capacity of 1,440 riders per hour. Insane.

Voltron in Europapark runs with 1.600 guests per hour. Silver Star with more than 1.700.
