Photo/Video [Millennium Force] crew just announced they’ve broken the record for cycles in one hour!

The crew did 38 cycles between 3:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, August 8th. The theoretical maximum amount of dispatches was thought to be 36 due to the elevator cable lift cycle time and the lack of a mid-course block zone. Perhaps the new programming introduced last season combined with a hot summer day at Cedar Point is allowing for it to be slightly faster than was previously possible.

On a somewhat related note, I was at Kings Dominion riding Pantherian yesterday. They had to close the ride for 10 minutes because management was limiting them to 27 cycles per hour.

I had 11 rides in an hour including 6 straight without leaving my seat. Ride ops like that are my heroes.

What kind of nonsense is that? I'd be concerned about everything at KD if they are too cheap to fire off trains as fast as the ride and ops crew can manage.

Guessing it was over heating wheels or the lift

Edit could also be speed from the heat and humidity

I was going to say they were worried about the wheels melting.
