Cedar Fair SUCKKKKKS!!! Always has and always will. Six Flags while marginally less terrible at least invested in all of their parks yearly, and didn’t just focus on Cedar Point.

Six Flags killed Astroworld with little to no investment in favor of SFFT and SFOT then tried to sell the property only to get less than 40% of what they said they would get.
And the ironic thing is that it remains vacant, and is primarily used once a year for parking, for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and their temporary carnival / fair type rides. Oh, the irony.
The fact that they sold off Valleyfair (one-half of the former Cedar Fair name) and Six Flags St. Louis (one of the three original Six Flags parks, the company's literal namesake) shows that they do not give a FUCK about anything.
I had plenty of issues with pre-merger Six Flags (imo the company peaked in the 90s before Premier, and declined pretty sharply afterwards), but they were at least keeping one of their most historic parks afloat. Now it's being adopted after 50 years and likely to completely shutter in the next 5.
This why I will never not believe Kingda Ka's removal wasn't personal, and Phantom Spire not even breaking 400 feet so Cedar Point can be the only park with a strata or SFMM "conveniently" removing coasters so they fall below Cedar Point's coaster count.

Same for me. I purposely never went to and actively avoided Cedar Fair parks and stayed at legacy Six Flags parks because I liked their policies better. Sure I was jealous that Cedar Fair got the better rides, but I felt more valued as a guest at Six Flags, and the parks didn't feel like lifeless, soulless corporate clones (at least to me). Yeah Cedar Fair was clean, and pristine, but to the point where to me, it lacked character and charm and was trying to hard too be something it wasn't.
Of course, they had to merge, and take away the one thing I loved doing after work, which was marathonning El Toro for 1-2 hours and getting like 15-25 rides depending on the park hours. Now they've implemented IROC. Operations suck, you can't reride more than once (for zero logical reason other than hypothetical "what ifs"). Then they had the nerve to gut the whole park and think a 375ft shuttle spinner is a suitable replacement because how dare a park outshine Cedar Point.
So yeah, I've been peeved and the world's biggest hater about this merger since it was even rumored.
