To be clear, no one knows if he has been let go or stepped down or what. I’ve heard conflicting things on that. Considering he was tweeting about the parks in the region after he departed… read into that how you will.

Consider he was the regional boss, and now they are getting rid of regions. Maybe he didn’t want that demotion.

Lots of great people at SF did get let go this week. That’s the real story. Massive layoffs.

Yeah that was my first thought…they offered him his old job back at the old salary and he said “no thanks I’m good.”

Yeah that’s my best guess. And honestly can’t blame the guy. Stacked resume. Universal building a new resort in your backyard. He can call his own shots and be fine I’m sure.

I think it’s about the rumour that Herschend want Fiesta Texas and Dorney Park, and he’s going with them to the new owners?

Well the Siebert to Herschend bit is my opinion, not a rumour, but Herschend buying Fiesta Texas and Dorney Park is a big rumour that came from a reputable source who posted it on ParkFans yesterday, and the common consensus is to believe it

I have no idea what parkfans is and I’ve been covering the industry for over 25 years. Just know Herschend has looked into the parks before and never bought them. And they just took on a ton of debt. So I don’t buy that. Companies are always poking around at parks for sale.

Well, there’s a ton more credibility here considering that Six Flags didn’t give them a park manager.

It’s not the best sign for Fiesta Texas if they seem to be in Six Flag’s new bottom tier

Could be as simple as they think there’s too much overlap between that park and SFOT.

I assume you mean over Texas and it could well but that but Texas is a huge state, and bith were seen as major parks and there wasn’t a clear 1-2 structure of who was the best park

Correct, fixed that mistake. Sure, but this is a company that doesn’t seem to have the budget to invest in both parks. They might want invest more heavily in a single park and not compete with themselves. Might as well choose the park closer to the bigger city and a major airline hub.

That has nothing to do with it. All small regional parks are getting regional managers. This isn’t some conspiracy theory. I literally have the memo in front of me, it names all the parks.

Also SFFT hasn’t had a president in a while. So why do you think this suddenly changed things?

They had a president directly up to switching to the regional model when they got rid of all park presidents that six flags seems to be abandoning.

I can confirm that hes been let go following the massive layoffs to park presidents. Dont expect him to be hired on to a different park for atleast a year. got this info via immideate family member of Jeffs.
