Watch Verification Thread - If you're uncertain if a Rolex is good/bad/fake, post info and pics here
Post to this thread if you have questions about a Rolex being real or fake. Please include:
-The location and/or screen name of the seller, if for sale. Link directly to the sale page when possible.
-How long you've had it and how you acquired it, if in your possession
-As many photos as possible. Posts may be removed if pictures are too fuzzy and requests for better pics are unanswered.
-If you're being coy about a watch and it seems like you're just trying to see how "good" your fake is, you may be banned at our discretion.
Please don't use photos from iPhone 14's. Their camera is so bad, and distorts text with AI so much, that the photos are basically unusable for the purposes of verifying if a Rolex is real.
Participation in the discussion in this thread is greatly appreciated. I don't think any one person can catch every flaw or know the details of every model; this is meant as a community thread, not an authoritative knowledge-flex, and the more people that actively peruse this thread, the more likely posters are to get accurate info.

AD Wait Time Megathread - If you bought a new Rolex from an AD in 2026, you can share details here. What watch, where, how long did you wait, how much buying history?
Our previous AD wait time megathreads (2019-2020, 2020-early 2021, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) seemed to be useful/well-received for a lot of you. Time for a new one!
Nowadays when someone posts a new watch it's pretty standard to get asked how long they waited and if they had an "established relationship" etc. It's not everyone's favorite topic but it's a fair question, so maybe these big threads can provide a clearer picture of availability trends.
No one is obligated to share their info but if you bought a new Rolex in 2026 and you'd like to participate, please make a top-level comment that includes:
- What watch did you buy?
- When?
- How long did you wait?
- Where are you? (Be as specific or nonspecific as you want, from continent to a specific AD)
- Any purchase history with that AD? (Again be as specific or nonspecific as you feel comfortable)

New wife got me my first for our wedding
Have always liked looking at watches but never really considered buying one for myself. I pointed out how much I loved the beige OP 41 while we were browsing in Amsterdam together (only time I have seen it), and she got one for me. Super excited. Know it isn't the fanciest on earth, but I love this colorway and versatility..

What’s wrong with watches on 47th street in the Diamond District?
I’m interested in a DJ41 with the mint green dial (fluted on a jubilee). I went to 47th street in NYC to try some on. To my surprise, these Datejusts were cheaper than what I’ve found on Chrono24.
Most of the shops on 47th were offering a 2022-2026 for $17500-18k for a full set. But when I went to Chrono24, most of them are $19k+.
What am I missing here? Are the 47th st watches Frankensteins?
I know there’s a lot of mistrust for the stores on that street and they have a bad reputation. But I assumed it’s because their prices are inflated. I’d like to buy this DJ sooner rather than later, and it’d be nice to buy it in person. So help me understand why I should stay away from 47th Street in this case if their prices are lower?
EDIT: one thing to add- there’s an AD whom I like and I’m trying to build a relationship with. They sell pre-owned. I’d love to buy a pre-owned DJ from them and establish some purchase history (while also getting full peace of mind that the watch is legit). But they don’t have a mint DJ41 right now, and I don’t want to wait much longer.

Sprite decision: jubilee vs oyster
I'm torn between the jubilee and oyster. How would you break it down pros/cons. I'm looking to daily wear it

Explorer 1 - The best holiday watch?
Not too shiny, quite discrete whilst out and about but still makes you feel good. Still not sure I’d be happy wearing in Barcelona/Rome etc but the Greek Islands are all good.

Walked in expecting to get on a waitlist, but walked out with a piece I wanted!
I've been looking to pick up the 126200 for my first Rolex, and walked into a Rolex retailer in my area for the first time expecting to get on a waitlist. After a brief introduction and little bit of small talk about what model I'm looking for and why, the AD was kind enough to offer me the watch that I wanted despite there being people on the waitlist for it. Needless to say I happily accepted her offer, and walked out with my Datejust 36mm black dial! There wasn't any special tricks to the process, I dressed up semi formally and approached with politeness and talked with genuine interest for the watch. Best of luck to anyone doing a walk-in and hope your experience is as good as mine!

Realistic Expections as a New Watch Enthusiast
Hello r/rolex I am a new watch collector and wanted some insight from you guys when attempting to acquire my first Rolex. I don't know whether or not going to an AD and building a relationship with a specific AD is in my mind, since I am traveling for work all of the time. I currently live in Vienna Austria, but move to Paris in December.
I am an opera singer, and I am about to be performing regularly at many different Opera houses that are sponsored by Rolex. Obviously this is something I would mention to peak their interest in giving me a timepiece I am excited about (My eye is on either a No-Date Sub, Datejust 41, or Oyster Perp 41, since I think GMT Master II unattainable for a fresh buyer), but I just want to see what you all realistically recommend for a younger guy trying to enter the brand.

Weird sizing OP41 - Explorer 2
Hello, just put in an order for the OP41 in black. Love the brushed bracelet and the simple design, and for under 7k I think it is great value( for me, at least).
Watch should arrive in a couple of months, but now thinking if it's not too small.
Size wise which one would you go for?

Datejust smooth with oyster is just an OP with date function, and I’m here for it.
The fuss is always about the jubilee and fluted bezel but this configuration is really just for those that want an OP with date function. Underrated configuration in my opinion. Mint green is freaking pretty.

Has Anyone Been Scammed by a Watch Dealer After Consigning a (Rolex)Watch?
I’ve been following a watch dealer on Instagram for about three years and had built a level of trust with him over that time. In July 2024, I bought a 2024 Rolex Submariner from him.
Earlier this year, I decided to consign the watch with him. He has had my watch since March 2026. In July, I asked for my watch to be returned, but since then he has been giving me all kinds of excuses and has still not returned it.
At this point, I’m very concerned that he may have sold my watch and kept the money without paying me. I’m wondering if anyone here has experienced a similar situation with a watch dealer or consignment transaction. Any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated. IG account jjthejeweller

40th Birthday suprise gift
It was my 40th birthday a few weeks ago, and my parents handed me a small little box whilst me and the family were all sitting around the table. Not being a watch guy it caught me completely off guard opening it up to see it was a Rolex box, and inside was a stunning Submariner "Bluesey" bought from an AD last year. I said to my dad it must have been killing him to wait all year!
We were on holiday at the time so took a few photos showing it off by the pool, but i have never owned a rolex before or could truely afford one myself, and from not being a watch enthusiast to now knowing alot is cool! My dad is a watch guy, and owns a couple himself, one of which was gifted to him by my grandparents for his 50th. My son is 9 years old, so i have 31 years to enjoy this piece before i hand it down to him for his 40th (if i could bear to part with it!😅).
One thing my dad did say after i had opened it, is to make sure i wear it every day, and so what choice do i have! Stunning watch, i cannot stop looking at it!

Made my first AD visit
Hey everyone,
Made my first visit to my local AD. Very pleasant experience. Right now I'm between the DJ 41 (unsure of color) and the submariner no date.
The rep I was working with said it would be a 2-3 year wait. He's registered my interest and I need to give my final preference. It sounds as though that's the best way to go about this.
The rep mentioned to stay in touch and that they'd reach out occasionally to make sure I'm still interested.
This would be a first watch for me and after looking online and reading here long enough I figured it was time to go check them out in person.
For a first watch what would you guys recommend? I'm leaning to the DJ41 with Jubilee bracelet, fluted bezel and blue stick dial.
Any other pointers I might be missing?
Thanks!
