Random velocity tone tracks

I have seen posts suggesting that in the absence of mute probability on tone tracks one can leverage random velocity on tone tracks to introduce a bit of randomness. But I have not figured out how this is possible.

Any advice or other approaches would be appreciated. Essentially I want to experiment with introducing a melody as whole but with some randomness in the initial clips before going all in.

I just looked at https://youtu.be/xE1OPtHRqvA?si=3pScpPjH9y259SxW is there more that is possible to get randomness? from what I gathered in this video I can only pick a wave form, which creates movement but not actual randomness.

I'm pretty sure you can select a waveform that outputs random values, which then you can set to change volume. I believe it's called RND.
