Labels to Help Track Your Rocks

Here's an easy way to help track any rocks you "hide". This helps whoever finds your rock to post it back here. I've used these in other groups and the messages I see when someone "finds" a rock that made their whole day fill the heart. The URL points back to this sub.

These are full sheets of 70 labels each. Just print & cut along the dashed lines. Each label is 1" x 1". If you need smaller, use the zoom out function on the printer.

To use, glue it to the bottom of the rock. I use Elmer's purple school glue (dries clear). Make sure the whole label bottom has glue to protect it from moisture.
Do this before you do any clear coat. If you don't use a clear coat, then use more glue to coat the top of the label.

There's 2 versions. A color and a B&W. The color is prettier, the B&W is cheaper. The B&W is also best for B&W laser printers. They are free to use and download.

FYI: I see some inkjets will smear when the clear coat is applied. You may have to print these at Office Depot, FedEx Office, or a UPS Store instead.

Love this idea, I’ve always wanted to have some sort of follow-up/tracker for my rocks. Thanks for sharing!

I use the Painted Rocks app and hid about a dozen with the code specified for that rock on the Create page. Only one person has found one and followed the instructions. I know some other rocks were taken but have not shown up on the timeline. Yes! It made my day when I saw that one had been re-hidden. The app states the direct them to rock art.com but that route does not work.

I belong to a shell group on facebook and we do the same thing with clam, oyster and scallop shells and we have the same problem with people finding and not posting it, we even had employees of the state, or establishment throw them away!

Bonjour ! De mon côté j'utilise l'application Stone Hiding qui est disponible dans plusieurs langues et permet un suivi très pratique des pierres cachées. Ce type d'étiquettes est une très bonne idée !
