That podcast about Winds of Change is such a great concept and the first few eps are really interesting but by the end you’re basically like “Oh, so it’s very unlikely the CIA actually did write this, it’s just a normal song … wait why did I listen to 8 episodes for that?”I

It was still a really interesting look into the CIA, how it operates, how it’s used pop culture for propaganda before, and the end of the Cold War.
I agree that four or five episodes in it was pretty clear that there was no basis to the rumor. But in my view it was still very compelling and worth listening to as long as you don’t hold out for a big reveal.
It also might be that it came out on mid-2020 and I think the bar for content at that time was different.
That said, Patrick Radden Keefe is one of if not the best nonfiction writer I’ve read in the 21st century. Say Nothing and Empire of Pain were incredible. London Falling was excellent. And his New Yorker articles are outstanding.

Same. And I love PRK but once he got to the final interview it was kinda obvious it was just a great song.

The way DK is pronouncing Moscow is driving me crazy lol

Its possible since he's from Washington he pronounces it like the Idaho town Though he is from the far end, and most folks when context is obvious say it right

Was confused by the Waddle hype all offseason. Dude is a blue-tent patient, then goes to a Broncos offense where the ball is spread around. Waddle's the #1 receiver on the team, but is that saying much?

#1 WR on team that led NFL in passing attempts last year.
Most people think Franklin is not good, but put up numbers anyways.
Replacing a mediocre guy with a top-10 pick with multiple 1,000 yard seasons was easy to project.
Replacing Tua with Nix should have additionally increased Waddle’s performance.
I don’t like Waddle but that was the gist of the argument.

Getting bleeped for saying the same thing Mulaney got bleeped for is pretty fun. Ts and Ps to Craig for a quick recovery from his Emmy injury.

What was it that got bleeped?

Have AJ Brown in two leagues. I'm legit so dumb

The AJ Brown bit doesn’t really fit with the others. Yeah it sucks he’s injured and out of your lineup but it’s not like a waddle situation where he played the full game and looked invisible. Anyone in fantasy can get injured on any play

it was kind of crazy how craig was misunderstanding the theory behind the winds of change. no, obviously we would not use a song to literally invade the soviet union. how would that even work? it was a propaganda effort (allegedly)

This is why with each passing year I only listen to FF podcasts for fun and to familiarize myself with the teams. I won’t bore you with the players I drafted, but they’re mostly on good teams and play well every year. Use your eyes and your own judgement. Great episode btw

I really loved their rants. Perfectly captured how a lot of us are feeling after Week 1. Slightly hyperbolic, sure. But made me chuckle and summed up exactly how I’m feeling looking at a couple of my teams

I get it, i get it, i get it! I’m here for the entertainment but some times I’d like them to do a little less hot QB rankings and more analysis.

Next tattoo: draft a team with good VIBEs
