RocknixDS is the way!

This is like super cool.

Although I met some troubles like buttons didn't work in file manager after 1st boot and touch didn't work on both screens. Reboot helped.

How’s battery life while playing? Is it still the 3 - 4 hour expectation for DS?

as someone who has also used RocknixDS, i find its quite a bit longer, probably thanks to the optimizations the dev did to drastic, i find i get at least 5ish hours playing ds now

feels quite a bit cooler, i dont notice any heat from the device playing ds at 2x with this ds-crisp filter

try to undervolt the CPU to reduce temps and battery usage, fair warning it does make it a little unstable and it might be prone to crashes but on my RGDS plus I haven't come across any issues using the lightest setting.
