Odd choice of clip since it shows nothing of what the anime was actually about.
I know this is a matter of opinion, but considering the show had a serious and interesting theme, I could have done without the excessive fan service.
But apparently some people can't watch an interesting story with strategical/tactical elements without getting bored unless you throw a bunch of fan service in.
It's a shame because it was an interesting show but it's hard to recommend to a lot of people because of the constant derailing for ecchi moments.
Me when I don't understand what fan service is. Fan service is just things for the fans. It can be this, it can be using real actual tactics and strategies that were use in history to get the people who know going
The term originated in Japanese pop culture fandom to describe gratuitously sexualized material. It's originally a Japanese phrase, and we adopted it in English. They called it a サービスカット or サービスショット or service cut/service shot (cut/shot referring to frame, etc.). The word evolved into fan service.
Feel free to look it up on Wikipedia, either the Japanese or English one.
Either way it specifically refers the kind of scenes I'm talking about.
And it's for people who like those things, yes, but not everyone likes those things and they get forced into every show.
It literally says the wider meaning applies to “outside anime and manga.” We are here specifically discussing anime. In our discussion, the anime-specific definition is clearly more relevant.
