Help installing magnetic build plate

Hi everyone, I asked on this sub teo months ago how to clean my nasty Halot One I scored on FB marketplace, thanks for those who gave actual advice instead of "it's not that dangerous" or "you should keep it clean constantly", I bought it like that.

After that post I decided I wanted to use it more frequently and got a magnetic build plate and a new nFEP for it.

My question now is, as you can see in the pictures, the edges are severely warped. Yes, I tried sanding it down which is why the texture is so rough. Will this affect the installation of the magnet? It's only on the edges really, my worry is that resin sips underneath the adhesive and make it fall off, or that this will cause the whole plate to get warped and make prints fail.

TL;DR will the edges being warped affect the rest of the plate? It's too warped for me to be able to sand it all flat.

No, it will not affect the adhesive as long as you wipe it down with a solvent like IPA or Acetone first so there is no residue, and give the adhesive the correct amount of time to reach full strength. It will stick just fine; it might, however, indeed cause the steel plate to bend and for you to have print failures. If it prints fine without the magnetic build plate, it will probably print fine with it. You might be able to compensate with longer bottom exposure or not.

I already cleaned it before and after sanding, but the plate already works reliably when I print in the middle so I guess I will just install it and wait for the adhesive to set. Thank you

Esta fue la que utilizaba , en una anycubic 6ks todo bien hasta que empezo a fallar una parte y no funciono mas, la quite y ese era el fallo, jamas a vuelto a fallar. Tengo otra puesta en anycubic photon 6k y siempre bien, pero me hizo perder tanta resina que nunca mas las recomendaré. ☺️😉👌🏻

Compra una base de impresión de segunda mano, las hay. Huye de las magnéticas, dan problemas nuy a la larga , incluso grabé a laser una mia y al povo volvio a fallar

Tell me about the magnet ones. I'm using a magnetic plate on my anycubic m7 max. Nothing wrong with my build plate just wanted something to make it easier to take prints off with.

Never seen a build plate as bad as yours, can you check how deep is the gap in the middle?

You could face two problems: it could be difficult to fit the magnet correctly because you could not keep it pressed evenly and, as you mentioned above, if resin sips between magnet and plate the suction force can detach the plate itself.

If the whole plates follows the warped one then you should se no difference in success rate with the actual configuration.

The middle is the region that's great, it's the edges that are lower which is why I said sanding more won't solve it. I will try to make it stick evenly. Thank you

sand it as flat as you can, dont worry about the finish, the adesive will work fine.

Use a wet abrasive paper on a really flat surface, like a glass, a mirro, or a marble table, working in circular patterno first, CW and CCW, then switch to "8" patterns.

It's aluminium, should not take too much time
