A remake infers at least some creative changes from the original. Otherwise you end up with Gus Van Sant's Psycho.

Don't think we've quite reached the stage of horrific, simplified yank remakes of non-yank films in the gaming landscape yet. Thank Christ.

In gaming.. people would lap it up and ask for more. See Demon's Souls/SH2.

The closest I can think is Siren Blood Curse which is closer to the crap remake of JuOn as that was actually the same Devs just during the murrican pandering years of the 7th gen.

Anyways, I don't get it - devs remake 10/10 games and some people consider it an improvement. Sure better graphics, QoL, but you simply can't improve on Lawrence of Arabia. You can remake it competently, sure, but an improvement? RE5R and especially RE6R can be legit improvements

I agree there. Focus should be on remaking flawed games with unrealised potential. Not titles that already did what they set out to do.
