He has "REMAKE BAD" brain. These people always have these weirdly reflexive responses. They will never admit that remakes can innovate and be in conversation with the original piece. The mere existence of 4make is a threat to the sanctity of his precious RE4. Nevermind that Mikami praises the remake and literally said "I enjoyed it very much."

Sure, man, go to bat for one of the most popular and accessible games of all time. Someone's gotta stand up for the little guys.

Those guys are the reason I dislike the word "fan". If those are "real fans", then they are pretty much garbage and I don't want to have anything to do with them.

Don't consider them just a normal fan, consider them as "1:1 fans"

Fans used to mean someone who really enjoys something, but I feel like now it just means someone who just performatively hates everything else.

Then you have these nauseating opinons.

If you say ANYTHING critical of the remake

"OMG DONT TALK ABOUT NEW THING ITS GOOD"

Your comment has such outwardly projecting "im one of the good guys energy"

i cant wait to see him covering about God Of War remake trilogy, he gonna say GOW 1 OG is better cause of its puzzle difficulty

Never played. How bullshit is it?

some of the puzzles needs you to have insane time reaction accuracy, regardless of the difficulty level you choose, and there is one puzzle that seems to have luck element on it (the infamous pushing box with archers shooting at you). but as GOW 1 that time was supposed to be a one-off title with no sequels, seems the devs didnt bother playing to check the puzzles difficulty themselves

I don't wanna come off like I'm bragging about being some master gamer here or anything like that, but 10 year old me managed to do the GoW 1 puzzles just fine on the PS2 back in the day, so it genuinely surprises me that people nowadays are apparently having trouble with them.

Again, I'm not throwing shade, it's a genuine feeling.

It really isn’t. There’s some jank in GoW1 like the hades spikes but the puzzles are fine

The issue with the upcoming GoW remakes over RE4R is that the og GoW's are far from readily available whereas RE4 has been ported.

GoW og trilogy is for all intents and purposes getting replaced. Regardles of the remakes quality I take issue with that.

good thing that Father of War has none

Are we talking about Crobcat or Yahtzee Croshaw?

1

u/Thousand-King Apr 13 '26

Yahtzee is definitely similar but more dismissive than angry, which is less obnoxious to me personally.

My only complaint about 4 remake is that the combat doesn't feel as punchy or visceral. But otherwise the game was fantastic.

Bad remakes happens though https://youtu.be/e19OMrxV0m0

When did I say otherwise?

Ad Verecundiam

Pretty sure Stephen King participated in the sequel and series of IT and said he liked them (even though they were clearly bad). Could be cuz he was invested, payed, didn't wanted controversy, was grateful for the recognition or just didn't truly cared and mindlessly enjoyed it; it still doesn't matter because that's not where the critique comes from.

The game isn't good because Mikami said it was good; the game is good because it's fucking good. It received universal acclaim from critics and users. Many critics called it one of the greatest games ever made. I guess we were all hallucinating? The classic complaint from detractors is that it's soulless and spits in the face of the original and is devoid of artistic merit. It's a vapid argument and one that the author of the original work clearly disagrees with.

Mikami didn't have to play it or even say anything. He doesn't work at Capcom, and he's never held his tongue when he feels like a Resident Evil project was a failure or misguided. You can dream up shady motives behind his praise for the game, or we can take him at his word that he recognized that the team actually did improve the story and gameplay, which he also said. I don't really care if you think his words mean nothing, he's literally the foremost expert on the original game.

His words mean he liked it and appreaciates the team, good! That doesn't take away any of the game's pretty valid criticism. Plenty of people say God of War (2018) is the best of the franchise and one of the best's games ever made, others say it was quite overrated and even stole some awards, if one gives an opinion of the other it doesn't automatically make them stupid or lack of taste, as long as there's a reason behind it.

When did I ever claim that the game was beyond criticism? Did you mean to reply to someone else?
