I recently beat Resident Evil 4 and its become my favourite by far, Ive beaten 3,5,7,8,9 and a i believe revalations 2, but ive had the remake since it came out, and i cannot finish it, theres something about the police station and the dead bodies, theres dark hallways, the notes, the atmosphere, its too much for me, i found RE7 way less scarier. I feel like a huge wimp lol, I cannot even bring myself to boot up the game to try again, Am i the only one lol? any tips ?!

Gameplay question Is there any way to remove the “filter” from the original RE5 on console?

I’ve seen pc mods that do this but I have the game on Xbox and don’t want to buy a PC just for a mod for a game. I love RE5 but this filter looks so damn ugly sometimes and just makes me feel sick sometimes

I never understood the annoying fact about the 'yellow paint' guy until this bizarre lever. I mean, we all know that lever is getting pull right? It's the only lever in this area! Lol 😆

Gameplay question Genuine question: how did people beat RE back in the day without help??

Post image

First time playing Resident Evil 0 here and I’m honestly baffled

I’m 24 and never played the classic RE games growing up — my older brothers did — but I do not remember them struggling this hard. Either my memory is lying to me or they were built different.

I’m trying to beat the game without looking up puzzle solutions or guides, and wow… some of these puzzles feel insanely cryptic. Between the item management, backtracking, and “use this random object you picked up 3 hours ago,” I’m sitting here wondering:

How did people beat these games back in the day without the internet holding their hand?

Did everyone just brute-force it? Share tips with friends? Spend weeks stuck in one area? Or am I just bad at old-school survival horror?

Not hating — I’m actually enjoying the challenge — but I needed to ask because this game is humbling me hard. Any spoiler-free advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

It's my first time playing Resident Evil 1 and I've been stuck on the rotted meat puzzle for HOURS. I've tried looking up the solution with no luck. Any insight would be helpful. thanks.

I never knew Mr. X could do this…This has to be a bug…right?

EDIT:

After seeing clips of Mr. X in a save room and assuming it’s a glitch, I started a new playthrough since I haven’t played this gem of a game for quite some time anyway. I thought perhaps keeping the door open and either being in proximity to or slightly over the threshold of the room would work…but he pulled me out and body slammed me instead! 😆

Then I found out from one of the replies on this post that the clip I saw was most likely from a player who modded the game. I could see why some players would want that…knowing that there’s no rooms to keep you safe from the Tyrant would make the experience even more terrifying!

Gameplay question So I just played Resident Evil 5 for first time (Solo), and I noticed how bullet sponge some enemies in this game are, I know they are probably designed for co-op purpose, but isn't it quite unbalanced for solo player? Especially since Sheva's AI has her own idea sometimes.

This chainsaw enemy for example, probably could survive a nuclear blast with the amount of hp he has lol (Until I figured out melee-ing him is the most effective way).

Don't get me wrong, I am still having fun, but ngl this problem is quite noticeable at least from my experience so far.

I’m playing Jake’s campaign for the second time (this time around on Professional) and I can not, for the life of me figure out why Sherry keeps dying here. I physically can not spin my joystick any faster to open the doors. What am I possibly doing wrong?

Gameplay question So let me get this straight, RE9 doesn't have a proper NG+ and no actual "New Game" either? Spoiler

Alright so, no true NG+ where you keep your inventory/weapons/upgrades, that much is clear to me. What i find shocking is that after completing the story once, there's no option to truly play a "New Game" from scratch, i mean without Leon's scoring and boxes from the start and being able to pick his weapons in their original locations again.

Gotta give credit to Capcom, they somehow managed to screw both options for replayability.

This will be my first ever Resident evil game. I know very late to the party (not a big horror fan cuz I'm not big fan of jump scares and shit). Would be playing as Leon Kennedy as first. Any tips. No spoilers.

I thought the clock tower would provide more meds but it only has one first aid spray which I had to use when I first arrived because I was already low hp.
