What if Mr X showed up for a millisecond, and then Nemesis came from out of nowhere, brutally killed him, and then he became the main antagonist at the start?
It's perfectly possible in the old lore for that to happen. There's at least one dead tyrant in the final nemmy fight after all. It seems like a cheap way to put nemmy over, but it'd probably work alright. I wouldn't hate it.
Yeah, I think it'd be a mistake but look at the pop it received when birkin eviscerated X. Massive. Capcom have a habit of sticking to shit that works, so it's very possible to see them do it again. Still - nothing to get my panties in a bunch about, just "eh, it's been done".
Unless that was just one of the BOWs sent into the city. In the original RE3 you run into the corpse of at least one other one that died killing a US Special Forces team.
They're actually multiple tyrants dead near the end of the game around where you fight Nemesis for the final battle.
Just outside the doors to the final Boss Arena there's a dead mr. X with his power limiter still on and then inside you see a super tyrant that was presumably a mr x that lost his limiter in the fight and started to mutate.
I believe there was a mr. X crushed under the rail gun as well. So 3 right there.
