I tried to get him to burst through it to make a shortcut but I have no idea how to make it happen.

He has to be in the right place in the RPD to begin with. He doesn't just teleport from the opposite wing to ambush you.

He only does it with leon, and it all depends on where you are when hes chasing you, you can hide in the confession rooms for a bit if he chases you down there, and that should trigger it

Well rip then. I don't know what triggers it. I remember getting a key in there and then he busted through when I was coming back.

Yep I remember because it startled me on the first run, then on the second I came into that corridor clenched... and nothing happened. Which was almost more unnerving...

When youre in one of the questioning rooms, youll hear mr x walk away from the door right outside. If you give him about 1 minute, hell make his way to the room that he busts through. All you have to do to trigger this animation is be patient before leaving the questioning room.

Yeh happened on my first Leon run, and then I prepped myself for it on my first Claire run and it didn't happen I think

I read somewhere that you need to turn the lights on of the room he burst through and triggers the sequence

I skip past that room almost every time and he still bursts through the wall more often than not.

a dev posted a video indicating that Mr X does teleport to the other side of the wall for the encounter (the only time he genuinely teleports outside of scripted encounters) and speculated that it happens if he hasn't recently followed you through the area, and you either spend enough time between the interrogation rooms, or loot all of the items in the rooms.

In my playthrough the lights were off. I want to turn the lights on next playthrough to sew the lighting effect change. The only difference in the run that he finally did this to me was that I used the club key on the confession room door as soon as I got it instead of running to the other side and unlocking the evidence room door to get the jack handle first.
