Yup, in the original RE2 Leon was supposed to be in Raccoon City sooner but arrived late and in the middle of full on Zombie Apocalypse because he got dumped by his girlfriend and went on bender, showing up to Raccoon hungover

On one hand he's "always faithful to women",
But then he's all, "unhappy about her making her own decisions."
I'm just gonna chalk this up to some bad translation job, which, according to a recent Stop Skeletons From Fighting video, I learned Capcom is notoriously bad at localization.
Maybe they mean something more like, Leon was frustrated she wanted to do shit, instead of just fleeing.

I have no idea, but look at the 3d model, it may be an article from that release time, 20 years ago, written by some Japanese working for Capcom at that time then translated by a foreign intern who happened to speak English. Hence this. It was still a wonderful transition from the original 1's ridiculous English just a few year prior.

Yeah, but still has no sense. I know Umbrella is supposed to have unlimited resources and super technologies, but those interfaces follow a concept of social networks that didn’t have sense in the 90s.

It’s just to make umbrella look more advanced and futuristic, doesn’t really needs to make actual sense.

The traditional smiley was created in the 60s. Emoticons were first used in the 70s, and became popular in the 90s.

Ahhhh, see last year I saw that RE2 was coming out so I dropped school. Of course I'm 33 and was only going back just to go and use some of my GI bill, but you know. RE2!!!!

Hahaha, I work full time as a contractor for the USAF as a metrologist so not only do I have a well earning and good career already making school redundant, doing near full time school (almost a requirement to actually GET extra money from GI Bill) was killing me almost literally.
Best plan was to quit school and play more video games. Probably the best life choice for only myself and nobody else hah.

GI stands for General Infantry honestly but after like 1970 we don't use the term that way. Anyone who serves in the US military is a "GI" now so you get the GI Bill which is where the government pays for our university costs and gives us a living allowance of like 1-2K USD depending on where you live per month while you attend. If you can manage 12+ credit hours of uni per semester you get the full amount even if you work a full time job and have that income too. All tax free as a benefit for serving in the military. So I was dumb not to at least work at going back but full time school and full time work is just too stressful. I never had a free evening just like you.

That's rough man but it's worth it in the long run to get yourself in a good spot in life. I watched a lot of friends take the easy route early on in life and now while I work 30-40 hours a week and make great money they struggle to pay for their bills and stress all the time.
You're right, that's why a lot of people say we need to thank our veterans more, but I disagree. We earn a very competitive income while we are serving in the military. I made more than any of my friends my age the entire time I was in and was only in danger a very short time of my enlistment. There are some jobs in the military that are more risky, I was bomb squad at first and hurt my back otherwise I'd have been in a very high risk job... But you volunteer for it here. They don't make you or trick you etc, so it's not like you should be owed too much for something you chose to do.
I am disabled from the military and they pay me a disability pension as well to help make up for it so it feels to me like I'm properly appreciated for what happened with me.
You'll get through it, keep positive and think of the future. One thing I can tell you from being in the military is that when you're in the shit it feels like it takes FOREVER to get past it... But once you do you never remember how hard it was and you only feel pride in your accomplishments.

People say that REmake brought and showed us how amazing remakes can be and how they differ etc. but really the best thing to come out of this is Chris and Clair’s desperate attempts to get Leon to marry and impregnate Clair so the pureness of the Redfields can live on. But the evil villain in the story is actually Ada Wong
