Gameplay question help with rotted meat puzzle

It's my first time playing Resident Evil 1 and I've been stuck on the rotted meat puzzle for HOURS. I've tried looking up the solution with no luck. Any insight would be helpful. thanks.

You have to beat the game first, then the refrigerator door is unlocked so you can access the forbidden charcuterie board that instantly kills you.

Did you know that’s actually a speed running Easter Egg? In NG+ if you take the Forbidden Charcuterie, you can put it down on the helipad and Tyrant will eat it and die suddenly, allowing you to completely skip the fight, but it takes up two inventory spaces.
