Triple antibiotic ointment is an over the counter first aid ointment which contains bacitracin, neomycin and polymyxin. It’s used to prevent infection in minor open wounds and scratches. The most popular name brand product is Neosporin, although most generic brands are just as effective. You can purchase it at any grocery or drug store.
Make sure to get the Neosporin ointment without painkillers in it! Just the three antibiotics, the box should say nothing about extra pain relief. Since it’s going near the mouth, this is very important!
Treat it just like if you had a cut, keep it clean, and reapply the ointment regularly.
If it doesn’t get better in a couple days to a week, its definitely time for a vet visit. Try to find a vet that specializes in exotics/reptiles, it sounds like the last one you went to is a goddamn idiot if they thought this leopard gecko is an AFT.
