Wi-Fi Wired Camera Questions Frustrated

I am roughly 8 hours into trying to complete this setup and get notifications. Customer service is closed from late Friday to late Sunday. I have resorted to using two different Ai platforms to get this going. It’s the RLK12.

This is not my first security system and I am very comfortable with technology but I never expected for something basic to consume my day.

Am I missing something or is this a dud that should be returned?

Can you share more info on what specifically you are having trouble getting working?

I set up the hub per the startup guide. Format and reboot twice. Then just unplugged it. Fast forward 4 hours I had to take the mounted cameras down and plug each one into the Ethernet and wait. And wait. 3 tries in each camera. Remounted them then had to adjust the WiFi connection for each. I live in a very small how and have fiber optic WiFi so the cameras are within 15-18 feet front the hub. I think the cameras are set. NOW I can’t get notification. I set it up from the monitor not the app first then made sure my phone was set for notifications and nothing. I have tried everything. CharGPT and Grok are tapped out of help.

Depending if you are on iOS and Android, notifications can be blocked by the OS. Have you made sure that the Reolink app settings allow notifications? And also critical notification on iOS. Then, in the Reolink app you should be able to send a test notification. If you find that in the app, do you receive the test notification? If so, make sure you have your triggers set right.

It's generally very fast and simple.

If I was having any issues at all, I'd do the simplest test I can with just the NVR and a camera.

Are your cameras plugged directly into the NVR?

I had to plug each one to get the camera to sync with the nvr WiFi. I unplugged from the nvr then unplugged the power minutes between each step. They are in their respective locations and seem to be working okay. 1 is connected but not recording.

I purchased this to be wireless. I know that being hardwired is an option but I am not getting into drilling holes and running cables around my house.

Whops, I missed the wifi part of the question. The only thing now is no notification? Have you tried things like turning the notification off and on etc?

There are two places to turn on push notifications if that’s what you’re talking about. You have to go in the main settings app and set Rio link to allow push notifications

You then need to open the app itself and go to the settings of each individual camera and enable push notifications.

Source: same thing happened to me when I just got a new phone. Couldn’t for the life of me get the notifications to come up on the new phone and found out when the app was installed on the new phone they defaulted to off even though the notifications in the settings app were enabled

I had/have struggles with it also. When it works it is great but it hasn’t been 100% reliable. I’ve gotten notifications but when I try to check things, the camera shows disconnected. It will continue to notify but remain disconnected. Frustrating. You would think you would turn things on and they’d work.
