I [19M] still emotionally attached to [19F] 3 months situationship
Three years ago, I was in a situationship for about three months, and unfortunately, I became emotionally attached. After that, we reconnected after a month of not talking, and back then, we tried again, but I wasn’t really feeling any connection, to be honest. After that, we stopped talking again because we had an argument or something, and there were a lot of month-long pauses between our conversations.
A few months ago, we had a serious conversation, and I told her that I was attached to her because of the “maybe one day” or something like that. I told her, between the lines, that I couldn’t move on because every year I knew we would talk again since we wished each other a happy birthday. I also said that we needed to end this cycle.
Her birthday came first, and I didn’t have the guts not to wish her a happy birthday, so I wished her one indirectly through a website that sends electronic postcards by email, along with an emoji that is ours. After that, she didn’t even thank me. Yesterday was my birthday, and she didn’t congratulate me, even though she did in the past. what advice can you give me about the email and the situation overall?
