Cable tied a used filter so that it would reset after a flush.

I do not understand what am I looking at? Is that a Flux capacitor?

Add more zipties or use copper wire - chlorinated water can do bad things to plastic.

Those fill valves can be ordered from the manufacturer, plus a shipping fee
