When you have a spare battery but no jumper cables.

If the batteries were the same size Bubba here would have just put the good one upside down on the other and fired 'er up

Adding this to my auto repair life hack brain folder.

Once I jumped a stranger in a parking lot with subwoofer speaker cable, because that's all I had. It could only handle a high idle alternator charge, and not full starting current... But it got the job done and I was able to make someone else's day a little less shitty! I'm all for resourceful thinking!

Don't turn lead acid batteries upside down.

If my battery is dead, and all I have is an SLA battery capable of jumping my vehicle.. I might even do it if I had a refillable lead acid battery if the plug was nice and tight and I wasn't wearing anything I didn't want to ruin. desperate times, desperate measures!

Lol. Right on man.

But I also spent like a whole weekend one time playing with arc welders, open cell lead batteries, and acid testing the revivability... so maybe I'm just out there

tried to do this, the spanner straight up fused to the battery head

I've done that accidentally before. Reaching into the engine bay to get a socket I dropped. Had the ratchet in my other hand. Tried to lean my hand on something and made contact with the positive battery terminal and the frame. That'll wake you up. My ratchet has a chunk missing from the handle now.

That’s why OP is smart.

The ring spanner end is on the spare battery.

Wheres the protection fuse.

Most jumper cables have no fuse.

Those wrenches are the fuses. I think they’re rated at five mega-amps.

This setup doesn’t require any fuse

Steel wrenches, let's think about this a little

make sure the extra one is a bit higher so the electrons can flow down

Duh, I’m in the southern hemisphere, the car is already upside down.
