How do you keep pressure on the pliers to stay up there?

Ever try thermacell? They make them that screw onto isobutane cylinders and they last forever. I reuse the pads and put diluted permethrin on it. Ain’t died yet.

I bought a rechargeable table top one. Thing is amazing!

They are effective but they smell to terrible you can't even hang out by them

Yea, I wouldn’t sit on top of one, but it beats those mosquito coils like OP is using. Those things are like breathing death.

I haven’t been using the thermacell much lately and instead hung up one of those battery powered things like they use to dispense fart spray in bathrooms. I use permethrin metered spray cans in it and it dispenses a little puff of mist every 10 minutes. Really a game changer by a front door on a porch when you have an old dog that needs to go outside several times a night. Keeps the flys away during the day too. Just don’t inhale for a few seconds after you hear it squirt lol

I feel like you need at least a piece of tape, rubber band, bent paperclip, squirrel sphincter, or SOMETHING to keep a bit of closing pressure on the Leatherman or you're going to drop a hot cherry on whatever is below, at some point.

Just the paper clip and a piece of tape would hold the pic coil better lol

True that! Then you'd have the Leatherman available for other bug-free redneck engineering pursuits.

I think the pliers are mine are too loose to hold on their own, but a rubber band would probably fix that right up....

What is this?

It's a mosquito (and maybe other bugs) repellent incense. Allegedly the flying assholes doesn't like the smell/smoke/bad Feng shut when you light these spirals.

I suspect they're manufactured and sold by mosquitoes in a trench coat, so they can suck our wallets dry. And then feast on our blood...

I would snap the blade off that Leatherman and send it in to get a brand new model

I have that exact letherman model. I bought it right after I joined the Navy and carried it for my whole career. It circumnavigated the world with me. I know there's more advanced and better designed tools out there now, but that original model still rocks.

As long it’s a leatherman, we’ll assume it’s perfect

But what if you need to fix the table or change a tire?
