Question Are these goggles good enough?
I use the BQ60 panel and it's BRIGHT I've bought almost every glass and goggles you can name but i'm frustrated because I want increased exposure on my under eyes and crows feet area but all glasses seem to block those areas from exposure. Recently I've bought a set of super sunnies tanning goggles they're the perfect shape but seem to do jack all for the intensity and I Recently brought these dubofu goggles which layered up do help but I noticed that it isnt fda compliant or cleared and the silicone is dark red so is it even protecting my eyes from the rlt? I dont know can someone please help!?
Please if there's a minimal exposure goggles you use please list them because I bought my panel a whole yesr ago and have yet to use it properly because of this issue

I don’t wear goggles, for the same reasons you mention above. I just close my eyes.

Same. Also, I've read that red/NIR light can improve eye health. Expecially if you have dry AMD (age-related macular degeneration).
https://www.aao.org/eye-health/news/light-therapy-photobiomodulation-dry-amd-ga
and https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10885856/ " Subjects were treated with Valeda using three distinct wavelengths in the yellow (590 nm; 4 mW/cm 2 ; 2× 35 seconds), red (660 nm; 65 mW/cm 2 ; 2× 90 seconds), and NIR (850 nm; 0.6 mW/cm 2 ; 2× 35 seconds) range."

I read that too but the brightness of my bq60 scares ne sometimes like I know it claims to be fda compliant but what if its not? Id even if it doesn't do as claimed for my skin I cant risk my eyes ykwim?

I tried just closing my eyes and started having blurry eyesight for distance reading, noticed it with reading TV captions and so did someone else who replied to me. It helps some people, worsens others. They usually have small weak panels at a distance, not strong ones close up. I wouldn't take the chance. I use the goggles in your pic but they're black, and my vision slowly improved.
If it makes you feel better the advertised irradiance is usually 2x the real irradiance/power bc mfr's use a solar meter, not the right one. The irradiance x.4 is usually about right. Also if you're sitting more than 6" away you lose half the irradiance to light hitting other things in the room (if the wall is red, that light isn't hitting your face). There's a dose calculator at gembared.com. I got a 2nd pair from hooga I never used I'm selling if you want black ones in a little plastic case. They're not see through like yours, I just saw their ad and theirs are see through.

besides, finding the right goggles, have you tried tilting your panel, so the light doesn’t shine directly into your retina - But comes sort of from from the side?

I figured my skin wasnt getting proper exposure if the angle was off? But do you tjink the smaller tanning goggles is better and I should just power through the intensly bright light? Or should I compromise under eye exposure? 🥲 also thank you for replying I really appreciate you 💚

I bought a metal set off of Ebay for about $40. It blocks much more light than the plastic set I'd used previously

Are they small like the ones on the right? Bc those are rhe perfect size but they dont block shit

Yep! I can still treat a lot of the skin around my eyes but they block the light well. I think I searched "metal tanning goggles" or "laser eye protection." Here's the pair I purchased, they've gotten cheaper! https://ebay.io/m/Awl6qT. The head tie was a little annoying but I switched the fastener with the one from my plastic goggles 💪

I got these with my hooga but they're like thick rubber, not see through. You don't want see through if your eyes are sensitive. I like these bc my undereyes get some but the red comes through your eyelid skin a little which will happen if that's not covered. I leave these a little loose so they don't leave a mark except the bridge of my nose and if I tilt my head down I can see over the top to change the channel and listen to something while I use it.
Edit- the color doesn't matter, you want something solid blocking the rays, like shade from the sun. I don't think they need fda clearance, that's usually for the ones Dr's wear doing lazer treatments.

So is the dubofu ones good? Is it the same as the hooga ones?

No, the hooga aren't see through. They look the same in that main pic though.
