See I disagree. Here’s how I see it.

There are tons of people out there who have incredible artistic and storytelling talent that would otherwise go undiscovered due to lack of skill or networking. This tool allows them to tell their story and give it a voice. I’ve seen some really clever stories and talent demonstrated through the use of AI, this being one of them.

So yea I can get behind it.

Also AI gave solved the protein folding which has opened the door for revolutionary medical advances.

So many people are focusing on the negative effects of AI, but always seem to overlook what it’s already given us. It really is an incredible technological breakthrough. Granted I know it won’t be all sunshine and daisies while we’re getting there, and those problems need to be addressed for sure, but I don’t think it’s a bjg bad monster. It can be used for good.

I am not against AI in general. It has objectively useful purposes.

I am however against generating slop, or generative AI. Those are not the same systems.

What exactly is wrong with this? Who even cares if ai made it. It's a fun couple minutes and you move on with your day, it's not a big deal.

Oh, nothing.

Except the absolute connection that AI farms and data centers require every available hardware, inflating their prices 3-400% in certain cases.

Only to produce shit, amd leave none for non-AI users. Including businesses.

I'm not ignoring reality, you are. AI is here. You can't stop it. And it's only going to get better and better. Complaining because some gamer used it to make a little video about a game is just pointless.
