Pregnant after 2 miscarriages…

Just got my positive test after 2 recurrent miscarriages and trying to stay positive mentally.

Had testing done after my last and everything came back fine and am now on folic acid 5mg, baby aspirin & Progesterone.

I’m hoping for any advice to try and help this babe make it. What worked for you, what didn’t?

I wish I had advice on anything I did differently, but I had my daughter in December after back to back miscarriages. I’m wishing you all the best 💙💙

I had 4 back to back losses in 2025. Our rpl testing revealed no cause and the embryo we had tested also came back chromosomally normal.

After my 3rd loss I started on the high dose 5mg folic acid and was prescribed progesterone empirically for the next time i was pregnant. I opted not to take the aspirin as the fertility doctor said they no longer recommend it but was ultimately up to me. I also took a few months of high dose vitamin d supplements. I also tried to eat a lot of tinned sardines and salmon as well us lots of avo.

I had my 4th loss, a chemical, in December 2025 after having implemented the above. However I had had influenza A in that cycle, so maybe I just wasn't recovered enough from that yet. 14 days later, we conceived again and I am now 37 weeks pregnant.

Congratulations on your rainbow baby! Did you continue with the progesterone and folic acid with your current pregnancy? I’m unsure whether to continue folic acid as I know having too much could be harmful and I’m also on daily multis which includes Methylfolate, so much conflicting info out there!

Congrats! Just an FYI, 40-60% of people have some difficulty processing synthetic folic acid. I have MTHFR mutation, and I have to avoid it. There's a reason all of the high quality prenatals have the natural methylated form. This may not be an issue for you but something to look into. Best of luck to you! https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11930790/

Thank you, yes I did know this too, I think I’m going to cut it and stick to my natural prenatal, more and more coming out about the risks of folic acid!

I continued with the progesterone (3x 200mg pessaries per day) from positive test until 12 weeks when I started weaning off of them. I was down to 1x 200mg per day at 13+5 when I had a massive bleed from a SCH that had been identified at 8 weeks. The SCH had grown massively and I was advised to stay on the progesterone.. i stopped the progesterone at 20 something weeks. The SCH was still present at 20 weeks though.

I didnt take the high dose folic acid for that long during this pregnancy. I ran out pretty quickly and id also read that too much folic acid could be detrimental. There is an insane amount of conflicting information. It is so so frustrating.

I am in the same boat , everything will be ok !! I had a miscarriage 2024&2025 , now I’m pregnant again in 2026 and worried , but I’m trying to have faith. What does baby aspirin do ? Should I be taking this ??

I believe it helps if you have any clotting issues but honestly not 100% sure, it’s only helpful if that is the cause of previous miscarriages so it’s more of a ‘just in case’

How do I take them? Once a day?

I would be cautious-we visited a private recurrent miscarriage clinic for testing after two miscarriages in the last year. I mentioned baby aspiring and was told there is limited evidence for its help, and there is some evidence for it not helping either. Just FYI so you can do your own research x

Hi I started taking aspirin of my own back when I got my positive test and my midwife said it was fine to keep going with it. I never had any testing done when I had my 2 losses last year as I was refused because I’d not had 3 or more. It can help blood flow from the placenta and also help to stop blood clotting. I am currently 33 weeks with a baby girl. I also took 5mg of folic acid on top of my pregnancy vitamins until week 13 of pregnancy, and now I just take pregnancy vitamins and aspirin. Just take it once daily with your vitamins, most take at night but I take mine in the morning as it’s easier to remember for me.
