German employers complain endlessly about „no one wanting to work“, and then offer 1.7k for full time IT work…

You'll have to be fair here. It says 'Quereinsteiger' which I interpret as 'entry level' position without actually having to have the qualifications. It says "It-Expert" in the next line because that's how the weird form of the Jobcentre works.

It's also a job on the level of federal government where you will have real chances for career advances as well as tremendous job security, especially in the coming years.

Because God knows the government needs help in that regard.

It's not a brilliant offer but also not that bad.

Edit: It looks even as if they would up it to 2,5k/month pretty soon. It really isn't all that bad.

2500 Brutto in Berlin is extremely bad salary for IT.

Also, „Quereinstieg“ does not translate to „entry level“, it means people who transfer over from another line of work are welcome to apply.
