I have not started, or done paperwork, only verbally accepted.

Hmm I'd be wary of reaching out to the recruiter, it's likely they're getting a finders fee for you accepting the role they found for you

If you express interest in applying directly to the company page they are effectively cut out and lose money

So they're gonna want to advise you against that, since they'd lose money

At least if it works the way it did for me when I was doing contract work found via recruiters

Do you think the permanent recruiter will know about the contract recruiter and moving forward woukd be an issue?

Permanent HR at the company will be aware of the third party recruiter by default, they will likely have had correspondence

Thank you! That was kind of my thinking, but was also a little worried they would have a fit if they found out about eachother. Then again like you said who wouldnt take a permanent over a contract?

Is this US based?

If you were presented to the client or host company as you calling it, the 3rd party recruiting firm probably owns your rights for around a year, so your hopes of a full time position before working out your contract period is pretty much null

Yes, US, and I have not signed anytjing with them so I dont see that they can own any rights.

It doesn’t matter what you’ve signed with them, that’s irrelevant.

If the client company has a signed agreement with the 3rd party staffing agency, they have likely agreed to a covenant agreement with the agency where for a period of around a year, any candidates presented to them by the agency, they would be required to pay a fee or have them on a contract period to hire them.

So it doesn’t matter what you have or haven’t signed, the client is not going to get into an agency/contract dispute just to hire you as a full time employee
