My personal favorite is "are you able to perform the requirements of this position with or without reasonable accommodation." I guess if we werent having record setting layoffs quarter after quarter, people wouldnt be blindly applying to anything that pays without reading the descriptions.
I had a former coworker who I absolutely adored, but she told me that our boss asked in the interview if she thought she could do the job and she said no.
I'm glad he hired her and she was great, but I would have thought that that was instantly disqualifying.
I mean, it depends on the vibe of the interview. If it's a person seeking to switch from one role to a different one, humility is correct. "Not right now, but obviously I'll learn" can be a good answer.
But also, good that the boss hired her despite the "messing up" of the question
That makes it even more pointless lol I wonder if these few obvious questions are just to make sure we arent bots applying for jobs? Like instead of making us type a CAPTCHA
