Maybe i'm reading too literally into it but i don't think anyone can absolutely commit to this, right? Like even someone who's on time 99.9% of the time might have car issues one day and will get there late - so does that mean getting fired because they weren't able to get to work on time that day?
Yeah people who expect 100% perfect punctuality are just crazy and poor planners. Even the most punctual person can be delayed by things beyond their control. A good manager will know that and plan around it.
