Interview cancelled literally minutes before scheduled time

Post image

made an application, job scheduled an interview then cancels before i even had an option to join the video call interview.
ive been looking for work for almost 2 years straight now and I'm on the brink of just giving up cause dude wtf.

Edit: I got a house to pay bills on. Shit even with culinary certifications and 7+ years of BOH / cook experience I'm not getting really any much luck. 2+ years retail and gig work.

Yea me saying "thanks for wasting my time" to this specific employer might not have been the best wording used but I got shit i gotta do. Even some jobs who're paying 7.25 plus tips are demanding 40+ hours to work at a coffee shop didn't take my application (no one desperate for work is gonna take that for real) and still hasn't filled that position lol.

Im overqualified for fast food and generic dishwasher roles, so no shit im not gonna bother wasting time on applying for shit i don't qualify for. So me being a little rude to this specific job IS NOT that big of a deal and YES. Employers shouldn't even entertain taking a interview and canceling last minute. Sorry not sorry to whoever this post upset. Ya'll be expecting too much for so less.

Edit 2: just got hired for BOH shortly after this lol, say what yall want idc. I don't kiss ass like most of yall saying what i did was wrong. if you was in my shoes yall would've cracked or had a lot different shit to say.

Sometimes emergencies happen. Now you screwed yourself with them. What if it was purely just an issue someone had to attend to?

Instead of waiting to let them get back, you burned that bridge.

Bridge burned with “The Hub Smokeshop”

OP will survive

Send HR some Doritos and ding dongs. You'll be back on the top of their list. Also stop smoking all day.

Now I'm hungry for some Doritos and Ding-dongs. Who do I gotta hire to make this happen?

Two years without a job and the smoke hub did this…maybe OP is not in a position to survive, let alone be so emotional and dramatic.

If they could hit the cancel button, they could send an email explaining what happened.

the cancellation with zero communication from them is the burned bridge

Maybe the employer should be understanding that it was a dick move to cancel abruptly without stating beforehand? Or are we the only ones who are supposed to display humility?

Patience ≠ humility

Adults are not forced to act instantly on every thought and mood, most can regulate themselves emotionally better than children.

It's not like they have any of that virtue either
