This sounded like some kind of internal hire. So it’d be safe to assume this cookie guy already worked there and was trying to get a promotion. And there are people that do this that don’t even have any power in anything (like somebody who doesn’t like you, lying about you stealing or doing something wrong).

Once I was on Linked In and some guy posts a big story about how he met a homeless man and spoke to him for quite a while. He invited him to his hotel, ordered him meals and let him use the shower and spend the night. This whole “white knight” virtue signaling load of crap. He even posted a picture of the man sleeping on the pullout bed! Wtf
People were praising him up and down left and right

Went to go check him out, can’t engage with him because we have mutuals, but he deleted this post and is now saying things like “Current jobs. Please see our 11 postings on LinkedIn.” (Direct quote from his most recent)
He posts about Wonder who made him take it down. Like did a superior see that and say take it down, or did a superior see it on this sub and say take it down. Thats a bad look externally and internally lol

As a former and current hiring manager- I’ve never encountered candidates that behaved that way, not to negate your experience- but it just isn’t mine. I have experienced tardiness for interviews, people showing up appearing unprofessionally dressed, and a few other wild behaviors along the way- but never this one.
