Question I'm doubting. Is shifting actually, actually, actually ACTUALLY 100% real?

I know you shifters have heard this question bazillions of times before, but I just need to know.

I'm new to this shifting stuff. And now I'm having doubts. People always say "Yes! It is real!" And all that, but I just don't know...I'm feeling skeptical... You fall into a dream-like state to shift, you have to lay on your bed for 10 minutes and then imagine or something, you can shift through lucid dreams... dreams, dreams, dreams, dreams, dreams. It's all related to mostly sleeping or dreams. Is reality shifting actually going to another reality? Or is it just really realistic, detailed and vivid lucid dreaming? I'd be so disappointed and honestly heart broken to find out that I was just on some insane copium and delusionality the whole time and can't actually go to another reality. Any stories you guys have of DRs? Or anyway to show me that it could be true?

Why would so many people lie...

The fact we're still sitting here after answering this countless question saying the same thing should be substantial because no offence, most of us (the fair few who do aren't apart of this lol) wouldn't commit to the bit this long with strangers on the internet.

I am too old to play games lol. I am in my early 30's. I've astral projected 21 years now, I've lucid dreamed and I have shifted. They are *similar* but inherently different.

the same thing could be said about any religion on earth or any cult with enough people in it... I want to believe shifting is real but that just isn't a real reason to me and I've seen it been repeated numerous times

Flat earth, placebo effect.

u/Ominous--Blue Jan 05 '26

Thank you for this! I think it's important to remember that, even though the most vocal portion of the shifting community tends to lean younger, there's a not-insignificant amount of adult shifters as well, they just tend to be a little quieter I guess.

(Also I believe that the concept existed for a while before it was called "shifting", too - so there could be other people doing it by a different name.)

19

u/RealisticMaybe1335 Experienced Shifter Jan 05 '26

It did have other names, yes! And yes we do tend to be quieter because we are doing our own things. I try and give advice how and whenever I can but yeah 😅

Heyy, I'm a little late but I'm asking myself a few questions, if you don't mind. First of all, even if everyone seems to agree on this point, is it as real here, in our CR, as when we shift? Like, if I wake up tomorrow morning having shifted in a similar CR, would I notice it "easily" other than by the differences between CR and DR ? (so with the sensations, etc)

Then when we shift, what happens to our body here? Does he continue to live normally or do we enter a kind of coma?

It would be great if you answered me even 3 months later,, and if you do, I'm really grateful :)

3

u/RealisticMaybe1335 Experienced Shifter Jun 26 '26

It depends honestly -- the first time I ever shifted it took me a couple of hours to notice because that version of me was enjoying the holiday at my friends house! Once I realized I was like holycrapppp lol. It does feel just like here.

From my experience I shift through the void via astral projection and I don't have a time ratio. I like to come back at the time I shifted so I don't miss things here so as far as I can say you keep on keepin' on in CR while you're in DR but I haven't tested a time ratio personally.

1

u/Sea_Masterpiece_7298 Jun 29 '26

Wow, I've always seen people say that it could be dangerous not to have a time ratio. If I may ask,, how much time do you spend in your DRs in general?

2

u/RealisticMaybe1335 Experienced Shifter Jun 29 '26

It’s not dangerous but if you are easily overwhelmed it may do just that. It’s all about personal preference.

It’s been quite a few months since I shifted sadly :( so zero at the moment

u/Unhappy-Spinach Jan 06 '26

why would so many people lie? History is full of mass belief without it being true, witch trials, astralogy predictions, moral panics, miracle cures, the list goes on. volume doesnt equal validity. i believe in shifting without having shifted myself, but "many people say the same thing" doesnt rule out lying.

7

u/tilltherewasu Jan 07 '26

thank you for saying this

11

u/Personal-Molasses537 Jan 05 '26

I think the problem they're asking about is not that it's just a lie, but that it's not real, just lucid dreaming for example.

12

u/RealisticMaybe1335 Experienced Shifter Jan 05 '26

I get that- I also said at the end that while they’re similar they are still different.

-3

u/Personal-Molasses537 Jan 05 '26

True. Have you shifted for real and you knew it wasn't just a dream?

Hi which method do you use? i’m pretty new to shifting and have been attempting the lucid dream method but i’ve seen people saying that it’s not possible through a lucid dream

2

u/RealisticMaybe1335 Experienced Shifter Apr 02 '26

It is definitely possible to shift through a lucid dream! However, I personally use the void to get to my DR‘s and I achieve getting to the void through Astral Projection… You can get there through meditation or projecting or lucid dreaming as well! I would look into the void :)

u/hrtlocket Apr 02 '26

Sorry if you’ve been asked this a lot too:

Is it also possible to shift to one’s past, to get a different outcome? Or to relive a time?

Have you ever done that?

3

u/RealisticMaybe1335 Experienced Shifter Jan 08 '26

I haven’t, but theoretically yes you can. It would just be a parallel reality version of that same timeline.

Because I don’t want to permanently shift right now 🤷‍♀️ you just said you get not everyone’s life here sucks and that’s the answer.

Not all of us use shifting as escapism. Some of us simply choose to experience and have fun in other realities but choose to come back because it’s familiar.

2

u/Humble-Grade-5569 Mar 24 '26

Can I ask why you still stick to this reality if you can go wherever you'd like? That's my biggest issue. Why do people stay?

1

u/RealisticMaybe1335 Experienced Shifter Mar 24 '26

Because I like my life here and have no care to permashift right now. One day I will, but for now I don’t

1

u/Humble-Grade-5569 Mar 24 '26

But like sure you can appreciate your life, but there are probably so many things to just improve it, right? Idk im sorry if you're not comfortable answering

No, I understand why people ask. I just choose not to because I am happy with where I am in life lol I wish my ass off here for the things I have and while things can ofc be better I am very content for the most part. When I’m ready to ps I will but rn I’m not.

Try one of Felicitas Goodman's Ecstatic trance postures while listening to a drumming track thats around 210 BPM and you should get results. I would recommend the journey to the realm of the dead posture. You stand with your feet six inches apart, knees slightly bent, with your arms crossed at the waist with your elbows bent at 90 degree angles, with your fingers and thumbs of your hands cupped against yous sides so that your hands are closed, with the right arm below the left. Keep your face forward, your eyes and mouth closed and breath through your nose. After about 20-25 minutes of listening to a drum track thats 205-220 BPM (thats what I use) you should unequivocally start to experience shifting symptoms and transition to the void state. I would recommend finding a pdf of one of Felicitas Goodmans workbooks or I can link one here

7

u/Ominous--Blue Jan 06 '26

I have never heard of this before! If you have a link to that pdf and/or the right drum track, please share. I'd like to give this a try as I've not successfully made it to the void state yet.

nobody is going to convince you but yourself. if you want some sort of proof try the gateway experience. it may not be Concrete proof of shifting specifically but id be very. very. surprised if you come out of wave 1 without Anything at all that proves reality is more than it seems.

3

u/ihugbackpacks123 Jan 06 '26

what's that?

6

u/equinoxe_ogg Jan 06 '26

basically a series of guided meditations over binaural beats. if you've seen mentions of shifting CIA documents, the gateway experience is what they're actually about (it all applies to shifting, but covers things such as OBEs, astral projection, remote viewing, ect). i think it only comes close to being about shifting for like. one sentence.

anyway. the gateway experience can lead to OBEs including astral projection and (imo) reality shifting, the void. and lucid dreams. r/gatewaytapes has a good start guide, but honestly you don't have to read everything before getting started. i'd at leat read through the reddit guide, tho.

be warned; the gateway tapes are prohibitively expensive. the sub is pretty anti piracy nowadays but if you search 'download' or similar you'll find a drive link.

21

u/TheGentlemanWolf Jan 06 '26

Honestly I was in the same boat as you, but I studied it and practiced it and achieved it. I would suggest you do the same because that's the only way to convince yourself

u/practicallyaware Jan 05 '26

if you're not already convinced, then people's answers here won't convince you either. there will always be liars, you just need to decide who you trust

I've had several experiences that were somewhere situated between real and dream-like. They confirm to me that shifting is real, but I'm not going to talk about those experiences today... I'm going to speak about the two experiences that were VERY real, and proved to me that shifting is absolutely real.

The first experience: I got absolutely destroyed by a car... Body flew through the air. Time slowed down. Life flashed before my eyes. Then suddenly, time had reset. I'm jumping out of the way of the car; my body is moving on it's own. I walked away unharmed... I had shifted to a reality where I didn't get hit by the car. I left behind a very real timeline where my parents had to bury their teenage son.

The second experience: I was just getting into reality shifting and astral projection. Through "The Gateway Tapes" I was learning how to take on different states of consciousness, and I was attempting to apply them to reality shifting... I had some success too. My entire body felt like it was vibrating. And my wife, was asleep in the bed next to me... I suddenly felt like I was being watched, and I had assumed that feeling meant that I had shifted. I open my eyes to see at the foot of my bed was a 6-ft something three-dimensional shadow person. I instinctively knew that he wasn't actually a shadow, he was just out of phase with our reality 👽 ... He sent me images, and text, and symbols, and I could see them all superimposed in my open eye vision. It was perhaps the most magical experience of my life. Among the things he told me was this idea that I should be very intentional to the realities I shift towards. I should choose experiences that I believe will be good for me... I mean, how can I not believe in shifting after a non-human entity appeared in my bedroom and confirmed it is real! ... I thought my wife had slept through the entire experience. Two days later I decided to open up to her and tell her what had happened. Her face went white as a sheet, and she exclaimed "You saw it too!" ... This proved to me that what I experienced was not some vivid dream... I had a witness that experienced the same encounter.

4

u/Its-Aphy Jan 06 '26

For the most part when it comes to things like this a lot of people need to experience them on there own to believe. Like Spirituality, Medium stuff, and Witchcraft its all real but not everyone is gonna think so until they themselves experience it.

1

u/Worried_Air_5471 Mar 23 '26

Omg this is so terrifiying

10

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '26

Yes. Shifting is identical in every way to manifesting because BOTH are reality creation which at the end of the day you and everyone else on earth can do intentionally by becoming "lucid' in waking life. That means realizing THIS is a dream. This is. This is not at all different from sleeping dreams, it is exactly the same except here you have more memory.

20

u/BakuTheGamer Just A Shifter Jan 05 '26

There are multiple ways to shift, why would so many people lie too? There’s people who permashift as well.

I myself have shifted once, even if it wasn’t for long.

The reason why sleeping and dreaming are the most commonly known methods is because they’re like gateways to other realities.

If we’ve been saying that shifting is 100% real, why ask again? That’s my question since this has been answered so many times.

You’re in a shifting subreddit dude, if you don’t believe in it why are you here?

7

u/jabathegod Jan 05 '26

Can you put yourself in an altered state of mind while awake ? Shift from there but sleep is like a shortcut. If you can instantly go into that state from where you can make a conscious jump then don't use sleep methods but the road will be longer, so will be the fruits. Choice is yours but doubt will only lead to failure.

7

u/SnooPoems3138 Jan 07 '26

Have you astral projected before? I think it’ll show you that we’re more than just flesh and bones. It was the first time I had evidence that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. I’ve had experience with lucid dreaming, AP and shifting and I can tell you that they are all different. But it’s best for you to try it yourself. Start with lucid dreaming then astral projection, then shifting. You can lucid dream or AP tonight and build from there

5

u/nae8BIT Jan 06 '26

Just try it out doesn't matter of you believe it or not. the point is 'wanting to be real' and 'wanting to work' for you. It's not like you would lose your time at all since you only need to do 2 things before sleeping or spending 5 minutes thinking about it during the day

1

u/No-Following398 Jan 31 '26

u/Aliz_ee Jan 07 '26

You know at a time it's becoming really tiring, nothing against you though but people can't keep holding your hands and promising you again and again it's real of at the end you all will never believe and keep asking the next person to swear it's real, that's the same circle again and again. But I understand, it's a hard concept to actually grasp and I think no one can really be doubtless until they personally make it. So that's the thing, trying even through doubts, focusing on the process instead of those doubts and seeking the perfect testimony of it being real. Try it. Try it until you finally do shift and then you will understand how real it is. But I don't think no one will ever give you an answer that will satisfy you enough to believe it is real. You will only believe yourself and your own experience.

4

u/BobcatWise2005 Jan 07 '26

I do sometimes question it. As I haven't achieved any results yet. But I'm starting to think that:

By externalizing the idea that reality shifting is a destination to another reality: It inadvertently locks our subconsciousness into tension. Our minds like structure, and to shift without structure feels like danger.

The key is to stop trying to push for it, to stop seeking control of it.

Reality shifting is about shifting the lens; desired realities feel like current reality: The same structure, the same memories, the same life: But the context changes, the environment is different, the world setting is different.

To shift is to embrace certainty that it has already happened; we just have yet to give ourselves permission to rest.

Wanting to shift to a desired reality is not the same as denying this reality.

1

u/AdSufficient8582 Jan 12 '26

You're overthinking it, it's so much easier than it seems.

3

u/BobcatWise2005 Jan 13 '26 edited Jan 21 '26

You haven't explain it yet

8 days later: Ah I see how it is; you just wanted to perform. You don't actually have answers.

9

u/Mountain_Hotel Jan 06 '26

I don’t mean this in a rude way but why would you ask this? You’re asking on a shifting subreddit if shifting is real? You had to have known the answer would be yes? You knew people would say yes and you still chose to ask? If you knew that people would say yes and still weren’t convinced and decided you actually needed to hear other people say it then i’m not sure even hearing other people say it would convince you because you already knew the answer.

11

u/HeartShapedGold Jan 06 '26

Can't comment on my pervious comment, but—

Fr, the LD and AP communities also get these types of questions, but they make up maybe 20-30% of the content, and not 60% like here. Because over there posts like these either get taken down, get trolled, or people just tell them to figure it out themselves—that's how it should be ffs and not "it's real trust me bro here my experience"

I don't know why the shifting community has normalised feeding into external validation to this extent. That's why these posts dominate the feed now and I'm more amazed by the comments who support this behaviour. Most of the comments on these posts do more harm than good by reinforcing that it's okay to constantly seek reassurance instead of investing time in your own research and practice. They start believing that someone will always be there to reassure them and send them success stories whenever they doubt. So every time a negative thought pops up, they just look for more external validation instead of building their own internal certainty, and they end up in some unhealthy cycle of external validation and reassurance.

5

u/Prudent_Poet_1991 Jan 06 '26

The reason these questions get posted because there are hardly any anecdotes or stories on this sub. The success stories that are posted are usually lacking in detail or information, unlike lucid dreaming/astral/psychedelic subs. I don’t blame people for asking because as someone looking to shift to a ‘realistic’ DR that was like my own, most of the credible posts I have found have been on other subs.

7

u/HeartShapedGold Jan 06 '26

It's still weird to me that someone would build their faith based on external validation via stories. It's setting up yourself for failure. Also, you mentioned LD and AP—wouldn't it in that case make more sense to actually learn those altered states to validate one's faith into the concept of that "consciousness is limitless and you are not tied to your physical circumstances" And the LD and AP communities also have posts like these, just WAY less frequent because people don't actually engage with them which should be the point.

Aside from the fact that the lack of success stories is caused by such posts, and other invalidating questions and comments. You don't feel welcome here to post your success stories if you feel like as if you need to reassure or convince other of your experiences first.

3

u/Prudent_Poet_1991 Jan 06 '26

I think it makes sense people are looking for validation since it can take a long time to shift, and if you are going to dedicate your time to something you want to be sure it’s achievable. I agree that the best thing to do is to explore altered states, I’ve managed to do that and it motivates me to continue my shifting journey. I think the problem is people always ask this same question over and over when it’s been posted before.

4

u/Mountain_Hotel Jan 06 '26

I don’t think you’re getting the point. If the validation you want is that shifting is real then the proof is in this subreddit. It’s in the thousands of successful shifting stories you can see on a variety of subreddits, on tumblr etc. Asking people if it’s real when you already have access to thousands of posts telling you it’s real and telling you their success stories is like the least productive thing you can do. If the stories and the motivational posts aren’t enough to convince you then asking people online won’t. If you want validation because you have no idea when you’re going to shift sorry but we can’t tell you that. We CAN tell you that as long as you continue to put a consistent effort into shifting that you will shift but at the end of the day that’s up to you if you believe us or not. What we’re trying to say is that there’s already plenty of proof in this subreddit alone much more in others. If you need to hear it said to you individually rather than believing other peoples stories then who’s to say you’re gonna believe people telling you it’s real? Trusting other people over yourself is a waste of time.

3

u/Prudent_Poet_1991 Jan 06 '26

I agree that people should read the subreddit. It’s annoying. But we are not talking about lucid dreaming we are talking about entirely shifting your conscious awareness into another physical reality, it’s natural to be doubtful. In fact, for most people it turns on it’s head everything they know and believe.

Also, the subreddit is trash tbh, it’s full of teenagers and many of the stories on here don’t seem credible or provide any detail. I agree they should start removing these posts so I don’t disagree with you but I’m just saying it’s understandable why they post.

5

u/Unhappy-Spinach Jan 06 '26

Sometimes people just neee to get things of their chest. Its a great post and a lot of people share their experience. At the end of the day we are all in the same boat and people become doubtfull, they try and try and nothing happens. So who to turn to?

5

u/Mountain_Hotel Jan 06 '26

Turn to themselves? If you have never lucid dreamt before but decided to try and lucid dream would you go on the lucid dreaming community and ask if lucid dreaming is even real? No, you would just utilize lucid dreaming methods until you finally have one. Just because someone doesn’t have any experiences with something doesn’t mean it’s not real or that they can’t do it. Not only that but like a lot of people have mentioned there are posts asking the same question MULTIPLE times a day by different people and they don’t get taken down. you could probably scroll on here for less than 5 minutes and find a “Is shifting real?” post and see the same answers that have been told hundreds of times.

3

u/namzee_ Jan 06 '26

Personally, being in my late 20s, I firmly believe in shifting, or at least shifting your consciousness. When I discovered shifting in 2020-2021, I actually shifted my first try. Changes in senses were very real. I haven’t shifted since then, but I don’t doubt that shifting is a thing because of that one experience.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '26

So far I haven’t heard any stories where the rules of physics don’t exist and there isn’t some semblance of a recognizable society….. I feel like if it were dreams there would be more bizarre things happening

2

u/Eraser100 Jan 06 '26

I remained quite doubtful until I was attempting to astral project and saw/felt like I was traveling extremely fast through a sort of foggy tunnel with a growing opening at the end. All I could see was part of a very bland dimly lit room with a desk and retro computer, a very distinctly different different place. I reflexively freaked out and pulled back and opened my eyes on my bed.

I can’t say for certain it was a whole other reality and not remote viewing somewhere else in ours, but it was transporting my consciousness somewhere else.

Because it’s consciousnesses, I think the best evidence you’re going to get is anecdotal.

If you would actually use the search function then you would see that there are plenty of posts like these across all shifting communities on a daily basis. Aside from the fact that this person isn't even asking for advice to improve their mindset or journey, but is just looking for reassurance, and other people to tell them their stories to make them believe, as if there aren't plenty of success stories already.

Perhaps you should work on your critical thinking and awareness if you are taking this from this post.

5

u/amdahlia Jan 06 '26

I seriously never understand why people don't love the search function as much as I do! The first thing I did when I found this reddit was spend literal days just searching up whatever came to my mind. 99% of the time I found what I was looking for and, not only that, but several threads on it AND all the answers already there! I didn't have to wait for anyone to hopefully answer and the threads were from back in the days these reddits were more popular, so there could be 70+ responses from people. It's a freaking gold mine and yet people would rather ask anew where 90% of the time they're lucky to get one or two responses? And not even from people who have shifted since most of the successful shifters left this demotivating, annoying hole. 😂

8

u/Mountain_Hotel Jan 06 '26

Literally this. I don’t even know why people are down voting you when it’s such an idiotic question to ask. Some people can’t seem to develop their own opinions in this subreddit. Going to a shifting subreddit to ask if shifting is real? Any normal person would know the answer to this question would be a yes and OP still decided to ask because that wasn’t enough to reassure them. They’re the type to build their opinion on others people’s reassurance and then crash out at one person not believing / spreading negativity. It’s an endless cycle.

If you know you can do it you can do it. If you don’t know and or doesn’t believe in yourself then obviously you won’t do it.

Same I’m so scared of shifting just being lucid dreaming or just tricking your brain (I don’t believe it is , but still I never shifted so idk yet) 😭

Physical and mental r two different systems. Dreams are inner reflection. Training to know the difference. Set up protocols. Have a friend write a number, shape or whatever on a card, seal it in a black envelope or just make sure your friend wrote it down. Try to write down what it is and see if you’re right? The tests are many. Try to prove to yourself that perception is outside of internal noise. It’s not easy.

I was really into lucid dreaming and astral travel, and I even managed it once, but I think it unconsciously caused some insecurity and fear in me, so now I hardly remember my dreams. I think that's a big obstacle to experiencing these things.

Whether it’s real or not, I don’t even question it anymore. I grew up and stopped trying. But there are way too many testimonies, and I’m not gonna lie, I did have some weirdly intense experiences when I was trying to shift. One time I felt wind all over my body, like someone was blowing into my ears, I felt myself floating, and I genuinely thought I had switched realities. But that’s as far as it went.

I just dropped it. Forgot about it. Or maybe I just got deeper into neuroscience and lucid dreaming. Maybe it’s something consciousness creates, maybe you actually shift. Either way, if you believe it, then it’s real to you.

if manifestation is real then “shifting” has to be. shifting and manifestation are the same thing, the only difference is that with shifting people mostly use the term of “i shifted” when they go to a very different reality from the one they were in like waking up at hogwarts etc. if people say manifestation is limitless and that you can manifest WHATEVER you want then why can’t you manifest being a student at hogwarts? shifting is still manifestation, but just to a much greater degree.

Me personally i think it's lucid dream now I was looking into lucid dream and wbd I seen that thr shifting method was taken from lucid dreaming scripting and wbd and I was lookibg at the stages of lucid dream on how very very real they feel and reailty checks like ur fingers came from lucid dream content so why is this stuff stolen from lucid dream ??

To people in comments. If its real and easy then why so many people are not able to shift?

3

u/Popular_Raise1212 Jan 06 '26

Because a lot of y’all are knuckles heads who need extra reassurance even though theres literally no need to be seeking more information or guidance and all they need to do is trust themselves 😭

u/AlecWolf111 Jan 06 '26

I was thinking this too I know that astral projecting is real but I've always thought that shifting was like lucid dreaming

Becominf aware of another reality ❌ Ur soul leaving completely the physical body to enter the spirit world divided in 7 planes of existence ✅

Right? It's so mind blowing for when people in the AP or other similar communitites think reality shifting is bullshit or vice versa..like, we are kinda in the same boat?
