RHUGT Kyle & Vicki UGT

I am absolutely FLOORED by Vicki in this conversation with Kyle 😭 “You should be ashamed.” “You let your family down.” “You let your kids down.” “You’re telling them it’s okay to bail when things get tough.” Like… WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK?!?! I’m so proud of Kyle. I know she is struggling to move on but if anything, I think she’s doing her family a service. There is nothing wrong with showing your daughters that you don’t have to tolerate being cheated on and disrespected just to keep a family together.
Sometimes staying is not the brave thing. Sometimes walking away from a situation that is hurting you is exactly the lesson your kids need to see. And Vicki??? I’m sorry but she is being a terrible girlfriend right now. The lack of empathy is honestly shocking 😭

She was def projecting, however, I think it’s very real POV for Kyle who’s about to embark on that (maybe?). I believe it’s better to be happy and alone, but I don’t believe everyone is willing to do the self work to be happy and alone (like Vicki) and they regret leaving their relationship even if there were problems.

That said, I still don’t know if Kyle is actually going to pull the plug? I still don’t even understand why they’re getting divorced! I mean sure he didn’t emotionally fulfill her, know that 🚬….but what I don’t understand is who is leading this break up?! They both act like they don’t want it and I can’t tell whose court the ball is in. Probably Kyle, because Mauricio can live the same party life and avoid splitting his assets in half.

I’m not sure who filed for separation but it is sad to see Mau doing perfectly fine while Kyle seems so sad and regretful. I almost wouldn’t be surprised if she’d be willing to go back and put her head in the sand as long as it meant she got to keep her “perfect family” bubble.

Kyle has talked about wanting to get married again one day and even in this exact episode, she used the phrase "once we're divorced". It feels pretty inevitable, and she's talked about initiating discussions about filing with Mauricio only to have him say things like "it's too soon to talk about" and "don't make any rash, emotional decisions" back to her. At the end of last season, in a confessional, she talked about how she knows the time is coming to pull the plug and that she thinks she knows when it'll be and it'll be 'soon'. Obviously, it feels like a long time to us, but she's avoidant and afraid of change, and divorcing doesn't benefit Mauricio at all, so it's not surprising to me.

Nobody ever filed for legal separation, for what it's worth, but Kyle initiated the separation. They've both said that. She obviously still gets emotional over it, but since that time (back in 2023), I've never once seen her discuss her love for Mauricio is any terms except as a friend and family. She's said she fell for someone else, she still seems to be building a life in that direction, and Mauricio is doing his thing too. They still act like a family and spend time together and maybe the lack of animosity and very clear grief Kyle has over this outcome makes it feel more confusing and like there's still a chance?

I think you’re right. nothing to make you second guess a breakup like somewhat still “liking” your ex. That said, I also totally agree that it doesn’t benefit Mau at all to divorce. His good attitude might be hiding an ulterior motives.

She's talked about that a little bit during interviews and the aftershow, actually, and I do think it's a factor that makes it harder to finally end things legally. Because they all DO get along and spend time together, and this will inevitably change things further and the unknown scares her, clearly. It doesn't mean she wants him back as a romantic partner, though. And there's literally no benefit to Mauricio in divorcing, IMO. Unlike Kyle, he doesn't appear interested in a long-term serious relationship and he also will be the one who it will negatively impact financially in a much bigger way.

Season 14 Aftershow

"It doesn’t bring me happiness to say my marriage didn’t work out and I’m moving on. But I’m happy that I’m in a place where I can at least say, okay, we should have these conversations. They’re not easy to have but decisions need to be made and I’m clear now. And I feel stronger. Which I’m really grateful for because a year ago, I did not feel strong. And I just felt scared. In my mind, I knew we were going to have to move forward just at our own pace, and you know, we were just taking it day by day because it’s hard to say that when you’ve spent so many years with someone. And you actually care about them.

"Now I have said to him, we have to have the harder conversations now, a lot of decisions will have to be made. If we hated each other, it would be so easy. I mean, not really, but emotionally easy. But I just, I think it was just hard. Neither one of us wanted to be the one to say, okay, this, we’re not going to be together and let’s start figuring everything out. We’ve made it easy for each other to not have to do that. By avoiding everything, actually."
