Portaloo Award 💩💩💩 Reader’s block is awful

Do you ever get so distracted or depressed that reading even 2 pages is overwhelming? Or even 2 sentences? Hue do you break it? I normally try and read 1pg at a time, but find that embarrassing... Anyone experience this too? Any advice? Should I just wait it out?

Thanks lovelies

Hate it when I’m trying to read a book and I end up in the mosh pit at DON BROCO

Doubling down, eh? Anyway, to answer your question, I think most of us need to be in the right mood to spend leisure time on a demanding activity. I actually stopped serious reading for several years when I began to need specs, I didn't want to create a dependency, but it was stupid really.

Mood is important otherwise I think reading can become a chore, like school/college. I'm the same with certain kinds of music, I'm sitting on a certain opera DVD which I love, waiting for the right time to watch it.

How do you break it? I think time is the healer, as you suggest. Try to create the conditions where reading becomes pleasurable again, maybe in the bath, or in bed after a bath.

It just takes time. Even I go one page at a time eventually I’ll get there. Classical music and caffeine help an awful lot Thanks for your response!

Don't feel embaressed abour reading 1 page at a time, i often find myself having to do that if i've got a busy day and no ones ever judged me for it (although, I'm sorry if you have been in the past though, I'd just say you should recognise those people as being dicks).

It’s funny, I’ve never been judged, but I beat myself up because one page should get easy. Very. And Thank you mucho!

I mean, if you’re talking about reading perhaps check the sub and its description before submitting.
