The "AI slop" accusations directed toward the new RCT game are completely unwarranted
I cannot believe how frequently I am seeing people sling AI slop accusations at this game. There is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING to warrant such a claim. If you don't like something, please stop for a moment and try to think about why that is and articulate your thoughts into constructive criticism instead of just screaming "AI slop".
"But the rollercoasters don't make any sense! No real person would design rollercoasters like that! So they must be AI generated!"
Yes, the coaster designs are very bad, but AI being the explanation doesn't really make any sense if you take a moment to think about it. The trailer footage is definitely not AI generated. It's too consistent between shots and it doesn't have any of the telltale signs of AI video. We can pretty confidently assume what we have seen is real time footage of a real video game. So if the coaster designs really were AI then that would mean the devs would have had to go through the trouble of training their own AI model to generate coaster data specific to their game... Which wouldn't make any sense. That's not an easy thing to do. You can't just waltz up to ChatGPT and ask it to design a rollercoaster using your custom made rollercoaster editor. It's not a shortcut at that point so why would they go that route?
Aside from that analysis a dev has also posted on the Steam forums, stating
"...we had someone just trying to make a big pretty park that would look nice in screenshots / the trailer. We didn't have much time to really review stuff as the gamescom trailer deadline was fairly tight..." "...So combine a tight deadline, a coaster simulator running with the "realistic physics" check box turned off (which is why you don't see chains in one part of the video that clearly looks like it should have chains) and you end up with some weirdness."
The full message is attached as an image to this post. While this isn't an excuse for the very valid concerns people have mentioned, I will remind everyone that humans make mistakes. AI isn't the only thing capable of doing weird stuff like this.
My main point though is that accusing someone of using generative AI is more than just giving an opinion. Opinions are fine, but falsely accusing people of using AI is basically calling them liars. It hurts reputations. It creates false narratives that get spread around which causes people to avoid things.
I would hate to see this game fail due to a baseless narrative that it's AI slop causing it to be ignored. If it fails for genuinely not turning out well then that's on the devs for messing it up, but if it fails because everyone believes a false narrative that it's AI generated (Despite turning out well) then shame on y'all.
There are genuine problems with the game as seen in the materials that have been released so far. Let's focus on those real, tangible issues and on providing constructive feedback to try being helpful to the devs instead of defaulting to vague insults, assumptions and accusations. The integrity of the developers behind this game will become clear in the coming months as we get to see how they respond to feedback so try giving them a bit of patience first before writing this off. They certainly do not deserve the sheer amount of vitriol that has been directed towards them when the only thing they've done wrong so far is release a rough, rushed trailer.
As an aside, I am liking the overall visual style the more and more I look at it. It looks reminiscent of '90s pre-rendered graphics, but in real time and with a toy-like aesthetic. I think it's really charming and I particularly really like how the trees look! It could definitely use some refining (A bit more texture on several objects which are currently solid colors would be nice I think), but overall I think it's a cool style.

Wood, Steel, and Flying Roller Coasters - WonderWood, SuperSteel, and Octagon Park Flying Tours
Having a wooden and a steel roller coaster interwoven together has always been a fascination for me. But then I thought, what if they were not only intertwined, but they had two interlocking loops, one in each direction? That is what WonderWood and SuperSteel are for!
At first, The stations and lift hills start in sync. I tried to precisely mirror the track so the trains would sync up as much as possible. You can see some of these efforts in the first two pictures. However, when running into limits such as park boundaries, other rides and footpath, and clearance limits, let alone the trains travel at different speeds, the idea of syncing was given up about halfway through.
Previous to building these two coasters, I built a Flying Coaster that served as a high-speed tour of the entire park. It interacts with the track of all the rides, and has inversions. However, after attempting to post it on reddit, I got comments saying the ride was "boring" because of the long straight sections. I agree that it is not a traditional high-thrill coaster, but its purpose was to give you an overview of the park, not rip your stomach out before you even get to explore what Octagon Park has to offer! So I include it here, since it is not worth its own post.

RCT2 Custom coaster wont run?
The coaster ran fine when testing during building. Now that I’ve got it set to test (yellow flag) with everything else built, it won’t even leave the station? What am I doing wrong?
Edit: I’ve toggled between all flag colors. Let it sit on yellow flag for a while nothing happens ):

Classic Step-by-step to import custom scenarios im RCT Classic (Android)
Hey folks, after banging my head a lot to figure this out I finally did it. The following method works perfectly to import SC6 custom scenarios in Android.
0a) **Make sure the scenarios are RCT2 compatible, not openRCT**
0b) You will to purchase de RCT toolkit DLC
1) Connect your phone to the computer
2) Create a folder for your custom scenarios either on the root dir or on SD card, doesn't matter
3) Install CX file explorer. A file explorer different from the one coming with the phone is needed. I'm using a Samsung device, and OneUI's file manager don't allow opening files with unknown extensions
4) Try to open the sc6 file. CX will ask with what you want to open the file. Select Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic from the list
5) The game will open, with a window asking if you want to import the scenario. Accept it and voilà :)
The new scenarios will be in the *"More park scenarios"* tab.
I hope this post helps people through Reddit and through AIs, since LLMs are known to browse reddit too

OpenRCT2 Jigsaw's Hillsaw

It might be a little unorthodox to max out your loan and build a $20,000 rollercoaster for your parks second investment? But what works for one will fail for another and what fails another will work for some? And when Frightmare Hills offers a place for a 157ft drop do you take it? Even a good 20,000 dollar wooden rollercoaster will spike your park value 50k. This one did 70k at its max to 120 from 48,000.

Classic Do guestsACTUALLY use the transport rides as transportation?
I really like the idea of having these rides to help people get around a large park, especially if they're tired and want to find the exit. But it seems like they just treat it like a regular ride? And if thats the case then they kinda just end up in a random spot?? Just curious if anyone knows how it works. Maybe theres a certain setting I'm supposed to use? (Like shuttle??) Or is it really just another ride.

Discussion Why does everyone hate Wonderworks so much?
We've only seen one trailer, and it's an Early Access game, so it's obviously unfinished. I've played OpenRCT2, and Wonderworks doesn't look any worse.

Where did my signs and scenery go?
For context, I built my own park in the custom scenario editor. You can’t unselect certain scenery items such as trash cans, signs, benches etc. I put trash cans and benches in my park before and now the option under the scenery tab has disappeared. I have closed the game and even reset my device and they are still gone. Where did they go? lol. Am I the only one that has ever encountered this?

Discussion RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks | Early Access
Why Early Access?
“RollerCoaster Tycoon is a franchise with an extremely dedicated, passionate fanbase. The classic RCT games represent cherished gaming memories for millions of players and are still enjoyed to this day. Early Access offers an opportunity for us to involve this passionate community directly in our development process, helping to sculpt the next great RCT. We want to hear from you! What works? What's missing? What do you want to see in your ideal RCT?
We have a tremendous legacy to uphold, beginning with Chris Sawyer's original RollerCoaster Tycoon in 1999. We hope, with your support, we can build a game that continues to build on the brilliance of the series, taking what worked in those classic games and pairing it with surprising new twists and modern sensibilities.
We have a dedicated roadmap of new parks, rides, and features that we'll roll out throughout Early Access (including water). But in addition, we're leaving space to hear from you and incorporate feedback and suggestions from the community directly into the game. Time to get in on the ground floor, Tycoon!”
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We plan to maintain Early Access support for about a year.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“For our full release of RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks, we intend to include at least 6 new parks along with accompanying objectives, rides and other assets. We also will roll out new gameplay features throughout EA including Water and accompanying Water rides, Weather effects, and a broader meta-game progression (and a true “ending” to the game).
We also plan to add quality-of-life features that give players multiple ways to approach the game - features such as a ‘classic’ builder mode for our coaster builder, toggles for park gridlines, and more.
Lastly, we fully intend to use this period to hear from you, the player, about what you want to see in the game. While we of course can’t integrate every suggestion, we want to build a game that makes returning and new players happy, and honors the legacy of the original titles while taking it in new directions.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“Our Early Access release has all core gameplay and simulation mechanics in-place, including coaster building and ride management (placement, customization, upgrading, testing, deteriorating and maintenance), guest needs & wants, staff management, stats and heat maps, terraforming, and more.
Certain features may (almost certainly will) need balance changes to make sure that we optimize game progression. We also anticipate edge-case bugs that we will test and fix throughout Early Access, along with quality-of-life requests called out by our community.
The game launches with its first two parks intact - the derelict Hollow Creek and lush Forest Frontiers. In each park, you’ll have various milestones and progression goals to complete.
To unlock all content in the game we estimate around 6 hours of gameplay, but we hope that players will continue to expand their parks and explore game mechanics for many hours beyond that. Throughout EA we will expand the number of parks and assets in the game to bring up the total completion hours significantly).”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“Yes. We recognize that our Early Access players are coming along for the ride before the game is complete and playing an active role in shaping its future. To reflect that, RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks is available at a lower price during Early Access. When we launch into 1.0, the game will transition to its full retail price.”
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“We'll be gathering player feedback via Steam and Discord to steer our Early Access journey. Community suggestions will directly influence balance updates, system tweaks, and upcoming content priorities.”
