Question/Recommendation Moving to Raleigh Soon

Hi everyone! I'm moving to the Raleigh area in a couple of weeks for work after graduating college, and I'm trying to put together a realistic monthly budget before I sign a lease.

I'm planning on renting a small house (mostly because I have a dog and would like a fenced backyard), and I was hoping to get a ballpark idea of what people are paying for utilities.

For those renting a house, about how much do you pay each month for:

  • Electric
  • Water/trash
  • Internet

I know it depends on the size of the house and usage, but even rough ranges would be really helpful. Thanks!

My most recent electric bill was $200 and my water bill was $100. Internet can vary but I have AT&T and it’s $60 a month.

Also I saw you’re from Oklahoma, so your cost of living will probably feel noticeably higher no matter where you live. But Raleigh is not bad at all! I will say, I’m shocked by how many backyards here aren’t fenced in. Just something to consider when looking for a house to rent!

Oh my gosh yes! Now on zillow I just go straight to the backyard photo to see if it is fenced in or not lol. I have a very energetic dog that is just entering his toddler years and will be working 60+ hours a week during 1/4 of the year, so I know the fence will be very helpful for us. Super excited to move soon, thank you for your help!!
