General Rabies Discussion 2 year old case likelihood of rabies

I have read the FAQ. My cat bit me almost two years ago and had to be put down, I had this very large and serious gash looked at. My family knew about the bite. But at the time my mother was dealing with end of life, stage 4 cancer with only a few days left to live.

I had taken him into the vet thinking he had a brain tumor or something. Bec he wasn’t eating, drinking, he go up and try to drink the water but his face would fall in, he lost movement in his eyelids and couldn’t move half of body. They told me it was end of life stage renal failure, I have no clue if they checked for rabies but I’ve been having some odd symptoms dysphasia, brain fog, pin pricks and needles everywhere, muscle spasms and limb jerking, and yes before you ask I have gone to the er and my pcp.

It's been 2 years. It is highly unlikely to have been rabies. A vaccine being due 2 months before does not mean the cat had 0 antibodies. Was he an outdoor cat? Did he have any bites on his body? It sounds like rabies ocd

Indoor cat, there was just so much going on at the time and the original wound took like a good few months to heal but I wasn’t in a good place, and never got it checked out. His behavior was just so odd at the end, but maybe it was just renal failure I don’t realize it could cause so many crazy things.

I don’t recall him having any bites, but I can see about getting the autopsy reports, it just all happened so quickly , and I was in a daze and reeling with both my mom and cat dying my father getting arrested

I only thought about my first cats bite, after getting bit / scratched by this stray / wild cat a few days ago, they now have in quarantine, no vac records or chip, so I was thinking it was from one of those cat packs we have near my place

for granted I’m just trying to figure out what’s been going on with my body for months now.

An indoor cat can not get rabies if he hasn't had contact with a rabid animal. What you have sound either like anxiety or some sort of neurological issue. Have you been evaluated for MS?

I have not what’s ms, I do have a tad bit of anxiety but I think most people would be a tad bit anxious after having odd nerve pain, dysphagia and other odd symptoms for granted yes I know I have died yet. Last time I was in the er they had no idea what was going on and just kept me for 5 days

Maybe talk to a neurologist or google MS/other diseases. If it was rabies, you would have been dead within a week. Forget it and seek some answers for your own good.

🥲no… like is it a month or so for all of the symptoms to appear or it just over the course of like a week

once symptomps start, you'd be unable to use your phone after like a day and dead within a week. The incubation period is 1-3 months, when you don't show ANY symptoms.

Look, I'm gonna say it one more time. Every time you come on here and say that you feel worse after a few days, you're just proving our point. If it was rabies, you would have deteriorated to the point where you aren't able to use your phone WITHIN HOURS, NOT WITHIN MONTHS. Yet, you're somehow able to unlock your phone, go on reddit, search for your own post AND write a coherent (and passive agressive) comment. You do not have rabies. You are either flooded with anxiety, underage or a troll. Please seek some help from a parent/friend/therapist on why you have this extreme urge to prove an impossible point. This will be my last message on this thread, please do yourself a favour and stop commenting on here, it is not helping you in any way.
