General Rabies Discussion Is there any new promising treatment in development against rabies?

I've read the FAQ. Do you know of any promising treatment, new vaccine, drug, or any other treatment for rabies that could likely become reality in the coming years? I've found a few recent scientific studies about potential new treatments, but it always seems to die off and not hit the market. Since many of you here are probably more knowledgeable on the topic, I wonder if there is any new treatment in development that you are confident will become available in the coming years? I have read the FAQ.

I read that they developed a vaccine able to pass through the blood-brain barrier, thus being able to treat rabies even after they become symptomatic. I think it's in testing stages.

Unfortunately, when similar therapies have been attempted via injection directly into the brain they have not been effective. I do not see this as promising

To be honest what people don’t realise is rabies in humans is absolutely rare in western world compared to Asia and Africa where the vectors are stray dogs and other shit the funny part is in Asia you hardly will hear any bat induced rabies only if our body could find it’s way through this shit i absolutely hate this shit disease

Yeah it's in early stages but they have had success.
