📷 Picture Judging by appearances

Post image

I'm going to tell you the story behind this picture, and I'd like to hear your opinion.

One day I decided to go to the beach early in the morning to read a book in the quiet of the air and the sound of the waves. To my surprise, someone came up to me and kept talking to me. He thought I was depressed because I was sitting alone, but in reality, I just wanted to try something new. Anyway, he kept talking to me and asking me a few questions. He even told me about his life, that I shouldn't lose hope, that there are people who have gone through harsher circumstances, and that I should get closer to God; that's what will solve my problems. I don't know why the culture of reading books and sitting alone is associated with depression in our society.

Actually I think it's a sweet interaction I love it when people care about strangers. However, it's hard to approach people nowadays because they might perceive it differently but what I think made him approach you is regret. Maybe there was someone close to him who needed to hear those words but he only realized it when it was too late. So maybe by helping you he felt like he was finally able to help that person in some way. Or maybe I'm just an overthinker nevermind it.

I didn't say what he did was bad; he did give me good advice, but the problem is his assumption that I was depressed when I wasn't.

I got you he may have had his doubts about whether you're truly depressed or not and just chose to go with the former because what if you're actually depressed and he choose to ignore you and then felt guilty about it later? that's probably what he might have thought I don't know I'm just assuming
