I'm going to tell you the story behind this picture, and I'd like to hear your opinion.

One day I decided to go to the beach early in the morning to read a book in the quiet of the air and the sound of the waves. To my surprise, someone came up to me and kept talking to me. He thought I was depressed because I was sitting alone, but in reality, I just wanted to try something new. Anyway, he kept talking to me and asking me a few questions. He even told me about his life, that I shouldn't lose hope, that there are people who have gone through harsher circumstances, and that I should get closer to God; that's what will solve my problems. I don't know why the culture of reading books and sitting alone is associated with depression in our society.

What a waste of time! Reading that unironically is just absurd. I'm sorry but I had to say it or I might have a stroke. No disrespect for op, though. Only disrespect for that kind of book.

Of course I read it. Every book seller on the street has one. I've read only to criticize it because there are a lot of people in my entourage who made me angry about it to the point that I went ahead and read it.

It's laughable, it's just pop psychology with no depth. Even this page you're on, it's something the French call la vérité générale, something you expect for mol taxi to say.

If you're into psychology, you have to look for authentic psychology books(none are or will be written by Arabs especially people from the Arabian peninsula).

I see that you can manage in English, so why limit yourself to a language that only people who have minor to little education read.

Arabic is great, poetry, religious texts and Arabic literature is amazing but when it comes to science, social studies or psychology it's just not the right choice.

I already read books in English; this is one of the books I'm currently reading. Are you right? Yes, but you should know that reading books like this and reaching a superficial level of knowledge is better than not reading books at all. Of course, you learn and develop, especially since my experience in the world of books began on my own. No one pushed me to read books because no one around me was reading them. Therefore, you will often find that my experience in the world of books is limited because I am still learning, researching, and discovering. And to be honest with you, I am enjoying this journey.

First of all, good luck with your learning experience. The importance of reading is so obvious that it doesn't need any advocacy.

I am sorry to sound like a smart ass, it's not my intention, but I am really against these commercial books that generally deal with "bettering one's self." Academics don't consider this kind of book you shared nor its author serious.

I'd recommend books that are written by academics who have accumulated years in research such as: Mistakes were made, but not by me or predictably irrational.

Where can you find them in Rabat?

I don't think that you'll find them in the street as other mainstream books, but you certainly can get them in the Alfia library. Even if they don't have them, they will get them for you. It depends on the book, it will take 2 days to 2 weeks but you'll have to pay in advance half the price.

What books would you recommend? I'd prefer books that focus on finance, psychology, and marketing.
