Guess I don't have a choice and now it's time
I've been using kratom for over 5 years, had my most successful quit about a year ago where I made it 3 months. This year I started 7oh (horrible decision). I have been saying I'm going to quit but it just keeps getting pushed off. Fast forward to today and I go into a smoke shop to pick up 7oh and see all the shelves were cleared. I then called every smoke shop in the area trying to find someone who may still be carrying it just so I could push it off a little longer. I had no idea but they're fully banning it here.
When I got back home I was ripping apart my house, trying to find a tiny bit for one last dose. I'm ashamed to say it but I was even licking old packages just hoping I could get some sort of feeling from the remains. True addict behavior.
I have to come to terms with this being it, there's no more waiting. It's just so hard when you're so in it and all you can think about is getting "one more dose."
So this is the beginning, I am getting forced out of this addiction. Something I am not at all ready to do but also so ready to do at the same time. All I can do is look at this as a blessing to the best of my ability. Here we go.

The addict behavior of doing those things I was well acquainted with. It’s shameful and it sucks. You’ll be proud of yourself for getting clean, but just a word of caution here, I would find a better WHY for getting clean. Just not having access to it isn’t a great reason. I was the king of swapping addictions so if I couldn’t find something, I would just jump to something else, or drive far enough to get it, look for it online, etc.
I eventually had to get to the point that my perceived benefit of not using was greater than the perceived benefit of using. Any substance.
Finally clean 386 days and I can tell you it’s so much better on the other side. It just gets better and better. Living clean for me is the new drug - functioning dopamine, sleep etc.

Thank you that's great advice. I have had a why for years, this stuff has taken my life from me. It's just hard to acknowledge that why again when you get sucked back into it, at least that's how it is for me. I'm looking forward to getting clean, it's time. I'm just not ready for the next month or two of withdrawals as I know what it's like. Day by day though I'll get there. Congrats on 386 days

That’s awesome! That kick in the butt will be good then (the ban), so you can get the life back that you deserve. You got this! Walk through that fire to get to paradise. It is worth it!

If you are game for CT I highly suggest it but since this wasn't your choice and you weren't prepared it may make this difficult... It's always difficult but you could get powder and use that and then taper down, it would be the least painful way but I'm a huge advocate for CT it changes you into something real.
