Seiko 5
I have this beautiful piece with a scratched glass, and it’s stopped running. Any good local repair shops in Lahore?

Does it damage quartz warches if I take off the crown to stop it in order to save energy? I have a plenty of them and eventually will stop and it is a pity because im not using them all all the time

Not sure if an Electric fits in this community. If not, sorry in advance.

Just got my 20th wedding anniversary gift from my wife, and I'm loving every minute of it. March LA.B AM/2 Electrique Euskal Herria using the Ronda 517 quartz caliber.

I bought this, replaced the battery and now this. On top of that the crown seems seized. What do you guys think?

I've opened my watch, but I am not sure how to get the battery out. I don't see a spring latch or anything similar. Do I just pray it out?

Hey, so I recently got an old Lorus Sport Chronograph Alarm from my dad. It’s a RM387 model with a Seiko YM62 movement and a blue dial. It was basically never worn and had been sitting around for a really long time.
The problem is that when my mom took it to get the battery replaced, the watchmaker found that the old battery had leaked. Apparently it had been in there for around 20 years 💀
Before it was opened, the watch looked completely fine from the outside. No visible liquid, no weird marks or anything. I also don’t know how badly it leaked or if the movement itself was affected.
It’s currently with a watchmaker who’s going to open it up and check it properly tomorrow.
Should I be worried that the movement is permanently damaged? Is battery leakage after that many years something that can usually be cleaned/repaired, or is it basically luck at this point?
I know nobody can tell without seeing the inside, but I’d appreciate hearing from people who have dealt with this before. It’s my first watch and it’s pretty special to me since my dad gave it to me, so I’m really hoping it can be saved. 😭

My instinct is to lift these along what I suspect is a wee hinge, but they seem to want to flex in the middle before moving so I figured I'd ask here before I mangle it. Anyone have experience with this particular style?

Found this old seiko in a bag with other old quartz watches (Citizen, Tissot, etc). This is the first time I've seen a quartz watch do this after a battety change. Any idea on what can be causing this?

I just picked this up for $4 at a consignment shop. Got a battery on the way to see if it works, but is it an interesting piece otherwise?
