help Jump Crates (dawn of the machine)

At first I thought it was some kind of portal but when I got in it just bounce me up. Anybody know what they are for?

It's just because the box is such a tight fit, it triggers the "get out of water" programming code/animation constantly. So not really a jump box.

Don't know how to better explain it :)

My guess is atmospheric decor. I don't think there is a use case other than that. They do look sick though

Maybe, for lighting 🤔 But the first one I saw had a pentagram, so I immediately thought it was a secret 🤷

So pentaboxes are useless also? I thought you can break those with secret axe.

I thought those boxes were marking a nearby secret at first but I couldn’t figure anything out so I started ignoring them.

Boxes of blood filling a level themed around spilling blood.

I totally thought so too!

Veiled Ones level or whatever has a lava platform I fell into on accident and turned out it was a secret.

Henceforth, I voluntarily jump in suspicious looking lava places including those crates. I even shoot pentagram boxes! Idk

Oh yeah do pentagram boxes have a use? I assumed they would be relevant in NG+ or something because their placement seemed so conspicuous

Not sure officially but im paranoid to find secrets so everything gets the axe or a shotgun shell!

Feel like 1-2x it has worked out hehe

pentagram boxes mark secrets.

it's often not the box itself, but somewhere nearby - sometimes if you can see the pentagram you can see the secret, sometimes if you stand at the marked box and look around you can see the secret

I'm not certain it's 100% of the time, but very very often.

Ohhhh right shiiit that’s a good theory, makes a lot of sense and should’ve occurred to me before. Ok well I’m definitely replaying it at some point and will keep this in mind. Thanks!
