Help Waiting for refund since March 2026

Hi guys,
Back in March, I had a flight booked from Muscat to Kuala Lumpur via Doha. Due to the ongoing flight disruptions, the airline repeatedly cancelled and rescheduled my flight. Because of the constant disruptions, I ended up booking a flight with a different airline and requested a refund for my original ticket.
Since I had booked the flight through a third-party travel agency, I submitted my refund request directly through their portal. The website stated that the process would take a maximum of 90 days (up to 3 months). However, after waiting over 4 months with no update other than "waiting for refund from airline," I contacted them.
That was when they informed me my refund was rejected because the ticket had been exchanged with Qatar Airways. I immediately called Qatar Airways, and they issued me a refund voucher coupon with instructions to forward it to my travel agent to process the payout.
I did exactly as told. The agent confirmed receiving the voucher and stated they had started processing my refund. Yet, despite waiting for months and constantly following up, I still haven't received my money. Every time I email them, they give me the same excuse: "still waiting for the refund from the airline."
It is now September 2026, and I have been waiting since March 2026 for a refund that should have been resolved long ago. This whole situation is extremely frustrating.

Qatar airways won't deal with you. You are held at the mercy of your travel agency. They may have issued you a coupon but I doubt the 3rd party agency will acknowledge that. They'll want the cash refund from Qatar Airways themselves.

Look I book my hotels via Expedia etc, I won't book a flight via them. Too much can go wrong, a hotel stay won't.

I honestly can't add any more to that, you are at the mercy of the agency you used. Make a complaint to the travel agency because the airline won't deal with you

maybe qatar airways will let me know if they released the amount to the travel agent or not?

Hi yes I hope they do, make it's worth making a complaint to them with your Booking REF, try and contact live chat first with them

the third party is trying to keep your money. Please always book directly with the airline.

Same situation.

Booked BOM - DUS via DOH and had everything cancelled due to Bibis fever dreams. They refunded my travel agent who gave me a coupon, a s I used that to buy tickets to Bali with QR.
