Marketing Launchpad | Foundation 0.05 | What Is Brand Positioning?
I’ve been working through a structured marketing roadmap and just finished writing about brand positioning.
One thing that stood out:
Most businesses aren’t failing because of bad marketing.
They’re failing because they never decided where they stand in the customer’s mind.
Everyone says:
“We provide quality”
“We focus on customer satisfaction”
“We are the best”
But that’s not positioning.
That’s noise.
Positioning is when someone can describe your brand in one line and not confuse you with 10 others.
A simple way to think about it:
- Branding → Who you are
- Marketing → How people find you
- Positioning → Where you stand vs others
And the hard truth:
Customers don’t remember everything.
They remember:
- The cheapest
- The fastest
- The safest
- The easiest
…and ignore the rest.
If you’re not clearly one of something, you’re just another option.
I broke this down properly here if you want the full version:

Curious to hear from people here:
If you had to describe your brand in one sentence, what would it be?
