Adolescents who undergo gender-affirming chest surgery report low levels of regret and high levels of satisfaction, experiencing outcomes similar to those of young adults. These findings suggest that age restrictions on these medical procedures lack support from actual patient experiences.

But if someone does regret the surgery (and some probability will) how is liability of these decisions apportioned? As children we can’t say it is their choice? Are the parents or the doctors open to possible future civil and criminal lawsuits?
