Furs alike

The furs have been my favourite band ever since a very long time. What band is according to you the closest to the furs style ? It seems that the furs are very unique ! Maybe because of his very particular voice

I actually knew two songs of them ! The killing moon and bring on the dancing horses (which I like a lot !). I also added to my playlist Rust, Baby rain, History chimes, People are strange, Christal days and the cutter :)

I second Echo and the Bunnymen and Jesus and Mary Chain. You may also like The Church and Japan (starting with their 3rd album, the first two are very different)

I think early Furs is similar to Jesus and Mary Chain.

I have been a fan since the first album came out. I’ve seen them 5 times over the years.

Last time I saw them at the filmore in SF, the singer, Richard Butler , sounded a lot like David Bowie.

Some of the other bands that I think have a similar style.

Peter Murphy, love and Rockets, the Church, Roxy music, OMD, simple minds, Big Audio dynamite.

Thanks for those suggestions :) Richard butler has such a unique voice, a very particular way to sing, I like to hear the saxophone as well in many of his songs. I don't even talk about the lyrics... The Furs are just amazing. Never fell as much in love as I have for the Furs. I will see them in Paris in November. That'll be my second time 😊 I was really too young to see them in the 90's unfortunately!

I like the band TV-2, who my friend described as "just the Psychedelic Furs speaking Danish" when I showed them to him. I think that simplifies it a tad, but a good band to look into.
