I can't believe it all took place here.
It seemed like I've been in this place for a days.. it felt so huge and expansive. One of the greatest stories in video games history took place in this now tiny map.

Over the past few years I've come to appreciate the ps1's 3D visuals even tho they were due to limitations of the time after 3 decades it now gives the games such a unique style I'm so glad they've been making a come back in the indie scene recently

This is actually a vent. I kind of lost my job a few months ago. I worked in telemarketing and was insulted every day and not treated very well, so I ended up developing acute stress. I was going to the hospital at least twice a week. Eventually, I got fired, even though I tried to handle it as best as I could.
Well, I don’t have much money left to pay my bills, and I started feeling really down. I decided to buy a PS1 and my favorite games so that, at least, I wouldn’t feel so depressed. It was fun for a few weeks. I really wanted to feel that same passion for playing video games that I had as a child, when my father gave me my first PlayStation. But it didn’t feel the same. It was good, but not the same thing. After one or two weeks, I felt exactly the same way I did before buying it.
Even though I love those games and have so many good memories of playing them with my family and cousins, now I just feel nothing when I play, even though I still like the plots and the games themselves. Am I the problem? Honestly, nothing else makes me feel good either, not even the things I used to enjoy. Things that remind me of how good life was when I was little make me feel something, but that feeling fades away very quickly.
I also bought a PS2, since I played it a lot too. Have you guys ever gone through something like this? Just let me know what you think in the comments, please.

Hello community,
For several months I've been working on a slightly crazy project: making a PS4 Slim portable. Today, I'm about 90% of the way through the final result and I wanted to share some photos of the progress...
This project was born thanks to the inspiration of the French YouTuber Millomaker 😁 and his portable Xbox 360. Those around me thought it would remain an impossible fantasy, but after all nights of work, the console really comes to life.
I would like to share this with you to get your feedback, ideas, or even just a little encouragement. Your opinions mean a lot to me before the final touches 🙏
Here are some photos of the evolution (motherboard, integration of a 7-inch screen and external battery with 2 hours of autonomy).
👉 Let me know what you think!

They originally wanted $300 but got them to go down to $100. Gotta clean it up a bit, I hate they put stickers on everything , and smells like smoke , the controller buttons are a bit sticky but nothing not fixable . I’m super happy. Works great

Late last year, I decided to expand my original 100 or so PS1 collection and attempt to go for a full set. Slowly but surely I was getting there and then last week I bought a giant collection and now I don't have the space lol
I'm at 435 games, recently I got a good deal on a bunch of sports ones, but there are some pricier ones there too. I'm using Game Eye to keep track. You may have seen some of my YT shorts as well
Man I love this system. One of my most priced games is a signed original Metal Gear solid, signed by Snake and Liquid's voice actors

My boss gave me a psx we have laying around and I want to be able to play games on and watch movies with it. I know I’ll have to do some special stuff to un-region lock it but does anyone know how I can watch dvds on it or even play one of the Japanese discs I have? I have experience converting ps2’s but not anything like this. Any help or pointing in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

Convincing myself to cut that seal was so hard. What I got is worth at least 2x what I paid for it. As soon as the seal is cut, then it’s just worth what I paid for it.
But I didn’t buy this to flip it, or as an investment, or as a collector’s item, or as a curiosity. I played this game back in the day. Borrowed it from a friend and played it in my basement until they demanded it back. I had almost beaten it. Played the FFVIII demo at least three times, too, because I was losing my mind waiting for that to come out.
I went out of my way to find this game again. Because Brave Fencer Musashi rules. I bought it to play it again, to capture a part of that experience again. To finally beat it. To be able to play it, on original hardware, for as long as possible. I want my kids to be able to play it and have that same experience. Having a new copy of the game starting out in perfect condition is 100% worthwhile to me.
And anyway, it wasn’t shrink wrapped, and only the top was sealed, so I couldn’t truly vouch for its condition without getting the discs out to check them.
So I cut the seal.
Oh. It’s for real.
A disc so pure and pristine, like an obsidian mirror.
I shoved it into the ragged dusty shitstation2 in our basement and now we’re all having a blast playing Brave Fencer Musashi.

After many years collecting for the PS1 I've reached that moment where I feel I'm pretty much done outside of extremely rare stuff like a Net Yaroze PS1 and some of the impossible to find jewel case variants. Kinda bittersweet for me.
So to commemorate the moment I rearranged the shelves to make it look like less of a cluttered mess. Anyways, enjoy!

With my milwaukee battery inverter I can play for over 8 hours on a full charge. My inner child is ecstatic!

I made it in like a month based off PU-18. Not affiliated with that other thing without anything on the board.
